nujabes introduced me to jazzy hip-hop. i fell in love and listen to it every day thanks to him. unfortunately he passed away exactly one year ago due to a car accident.

You should check out J Dilla also. Stakes is High is originally a De La Soul song produced by dilla, and Dela (coincidence??) actually sampled parts of it. Good thread. RIP Nujabes.
Aww, thanks for this. I miss Jun Seba a lot, he was one of the greatest minds in modern hip hop.
I wrote this quatrain when I heard that it had been a year since he passed away (I am not a very good poet):
Jun Seba Whose notes swung with that backwards kind of blue Familiar to anyone looking in from outside, And sang to you in the voice Of someone you forgot you forgot about.
