I picked up a job in Alexandria, VA (outside DC) recently; I'm going to be finishing out the school year as a math teacher for a private school in the area. Problem is, I'm currently in Michigan and not really sure what my options are as far as housing. So I thought I'd ask TL: Since this is (currently) a short-term job, I'm looking for short-term residence: ideal for me would be somebody looking for a housemate/roommate for the rest of the school year, maybe a grad school student if you know somebody?
The school's near the King St blue/yellow line metro stop, so (again ideally) an apartment/room near the metro would be my preferred option. I have a car but given DC traffic I'd rather not have to drive, certainly not very far, every day.
I'm also moving down (driving - like I said, I have a car) this weekend, as I start on the 1st. So this is sort of a "let's figure this out quickly" scenario.
Thanks!

I used to work like 2 blocks away from that school, and from what I remember my co-workers telling me, the housing in the surrounding area is pretty expensive. However, King's Street is a pretty major bus hub as well as a metro stop. I would look at the bus lines that go there. You can find places that are a lot cheaper if you are willing to take the bus to the area (parking is a bit of a nightmare in the DC area, so unless your school gives you parking, driving doesn't always work).
