Sorry, I don't mean to come off chainsawy with these last few posts, but there have been a few things bugging me, and I think that I can talk about them now. Because I've been playing Little Big Planet 2 and cleaning my room. I prefer to think about things thoroughly before I post about them. There is no point posting every half baked idea I might have about the clues and it'll just be cluttering. I have been working on and thinking about the clues, just because I haven't been posting about them doesn't mean I'm not thinking about it. I'll post my thoughts on it when I feel I have something to say that has yet to be said and that may actually lead somewhere. I just don't have any strong feelings about the clues. If I had to point a finger somewhere it'd be at OriginalName or Nemesis I guess. It's weak though.
I understand, and respect your wish to post well thought out posts. I'm not doing this till the election is over, so that people have ample enough time to examine me. However, I want to see that work eventually make it's way onto the forum.

Oh, it's public? That's retarded. Oh well.

When elected , you will publicly select two bodyguards to protect you for the rest of the game. While bodyguards are alive, you cannot be targeted by night hits or the roleblocker. Role checks on you will return “Mayor”. This mechanic seems stupid to me, I dunno why the two BG's are publicly announced as 100% truth. Annoying as shit and removes any skill from the role. There's no flip, so the mayor would be practically invincible if the bodyguards weren't reveled.

Reasons you should vote for me:
1. I am a big mafia target and bodyguard protection will help me survive into the later stages of the game. 2. I do fairly well at organizing town discussion and making sure we don't get sidetracked. 3. I'm not the best scumhunter, but I'm getting better. I am pretty good at determining who is trustworthy so I think I'll make good decisions as far as bodyguards. 4. I'm great at clue analysis.

Man, if I could sleep 16 hrs.... Geeze.
So that I can put out a concrete name, I will lynch OriginalName if elected. I have previously said that I would lynch a lurker, and he fits that bill. The fact that the clues seem related to him adds to that.

One more thing, While I am posting a lot right now, I plan on scaling back how much I post once the election takes place. I'll stay just as involved, and I will be just as active in my hunting, and analyzing, but I will put more thought into my posts in an effort to clean up the thread a little bit.
Again, I'm posting a lot so that it's clear that I'm town. Those who are not running for mayor should be putting more thought into their posts, reading the thread better, and trying not to repeat information that has already been given. (There have been several players who haven't read the OP very well, and are wasting the time of others when they have to inform them of it. Try to read the OP at least.)
I don't want to discourage activity. I want to discourage spam. It has been made clear that the mafia can not rely on inactivity to win this game, because of the replacements, mayor, and such. Thus they will likely try to get the forum so spammy that people can't get the important information out of it.

I wouldn't drop the volunteer thing yet. The two people who said it was bad was Nemesis, and Dr.H. Both had flawed reasoning. Nemesis because he assumed that over half the town would volunteer, and that they would all be green. Dr.H because he mistakenly thought that the BG's were privatly picked.
I still support this plan.

Ok I (and I think a lot of others) am really dissatisfied with the current group of mayor candidates. I'll go through and explain why I don't like each of them.
RoL: doesn't give a shit. He said he thinks he's good at scum hunting and a likely mafia night one kill. Ok those sound like good reasons I guess but why has he barely campaigned at all. Last game I played with RoL he worked pretty hard for his election. In that game he had a very take charge mentality while in this game he's been way too laid back. If being mayor mattered so little then why even bother saying you would run.
DrH: Similar to RoL he doesn't seem to care that much about getting elected. As aggressive as RoL when he ran DrH was ten times as aggressive and insistent about being elected. Along with his less then enthusiastic campaign, his platform is almost indistinguishable from Kavs. When I'm casting my vote I wanna know why I'm voting DrH not Kav and last time DrH ran I would have known why from the start and been reminded often.
Kav: I left him for last because if I was forced to vote right now it would probably be for him. He made his intention to run clear before the start of the game so I'm not as suspicious of his desire to get elected had he only just started his push. However what's stopping me from pulling the lever for him is Kita's concession. He basically ran saying "I'm not Kav" but he conceded to prevent DrH from being elected. If we were two hours before the deadline in a tight race between DrH and Kav I could understand Kita pulling out if he really felt DrH was scummy. But at this point the games barely even begun and kita conceded just after voting began. All of this just seems weird to me, if Kita really didn't want either Kav or DrH he could have voted RoL or campaigned harder for himself.
Anyway as I said, like a lot of people I'd like to see another candidate who offered a clear contrast from the current candidates.
[g]Can we vote for someone who did not declare candidacy?[/g]

How do you make something green?
|
i will volunteer as a bodyguard
|
Oh and EBWOP because I'm suspicious of kita doesn't mean I'm also as suspicious of Kav, it just means right now I'm hesitant to vote for him.
|
I do think that veteran acting as bodyguard is a very good tactic.
I'll go farther and say that we should have people volunteering to be bodyguards and mayor choose among them.
-If the number of volunteers is 4 or less, volunteers shouldn't claim and mayor will choose among them. Because this will play a small mind game that disorganized mafia's thought process. -If the number of volunteers is 5 or more, veteran volunteers should claim and mayor prioritize these self-claim veteran as bodyguards. Because mayor is valuable to town, we need more protection for the mayor.
I played games where town mayor with special ability of additional vote get killed early. In this game, mayor's power is expanded which pose far more threat to mafia than other games do.
