I've got a fever/cold and it sucks, I fail at SC2, WoW doesn't appeal to me anymore and I only play HoN with friends. I got no games to play, and it struck me how "good" the games you played when you were a kid. It could have been anything, and I'm looking for single player games. As I'm not too old I'm looking for games from the 90s / the early 2000 era.
So, what did you play, and do you got anything do reccomend?
I am re-playing Monkey Island 2 at the moment. I think it was released very early in the 90s so it might be too old for you. But it is a good adventure if you don't mind the horrible graphics.
Edit: And you can get it 'free' online through some of these abandonware websites. Although I am not 100 percent sure about the legal status of these sites.
Oh man, well , I've played through all the MI's except from.. 4? Because I didn't like the 3D graphics. Well, 'bout the graphics, I find 'em cool, just sucks there are no sound, but if you buy the Special edition you get either HD graphics (is it true to say HD?) or you can play with the normal graphics but with sound, which is awesome =)
Oh, the new Tales of Monkey Island is awesome aswell =)
Final Fantasy Tactics 1.3 is so good, everything's just so much harder because there's no blade grasp and orlandu doesn't kill everything. I still haven't beaten it D:
so you like action rpgs? sorta like legend of zelda types? secret of mana was one of my favourites (on the snes)
edit: there might be spoilers in here if you care to try it, I only watched like 10 seconds just to make sure there was some kind of game play you can watch
My go-to answer for this kind of question: play Jagged Alliance 2 and the Gothic series. They're among the greatest games I've ever played. Also perhaps Heroes of Might and Magic 3, but it's at its best in hot-seat multiplayer on one computer.

Ooh that's a good one.
If you want computer games, there's a lot of old FPS games (I hope graphics aren't a concern!).
Duke Nukem 3d Doom 1 & 2 Quake Marathon 1, 2, and infinity (you'll have to play on Aleph One, a 3rd party engine that runs on windows) Descent 1 & 2
And of course, CHEX QUEST! (I know I just made someone nostalgia)
As for old rts, I really highly recommend looking at the Myth games (1 & 2). These are some of the most amazing games I've ever played. They're non-economic rts, completely about force control, but the single player is one of the most amazing RTS experiences I've ever had. If you think SC was a good sp experience, play those games.
For more modern games, I really highly recommend Doom 3. It's probably the best shooter since half life 2.
-Alley Cat (action game) - You play a cat! -Space Invaders (action game) -Legend of Kyrandia (adventure game) -Indiana Jones (the adventure games) -Kings Quest (adventure game) -Leisure Suit Larry (adventure game) -Police Quest (adventure game) -Commander Keen (action game!) -Duke Nukem 3D -GTA I -Diablo (Yeah!) -Starcraft I (Hell yeah!) -Warcraft II (F*ck yeah!) -Doom I and II -Quake I -Civilization I + II -Death Rally (amazing top-down racing game) -Mechwarrior III -Might and Magic VI and VII -Heroes of Might and Magic II + III -Theme Hospital -Dungeon Keeper -Anything made by Bioware (Fallout, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment), Looking Glass Studios (Thief, System Shock) and Westwood Studios (Blade Runner, Command & Conquer: Red Alert and Lands of Lore).
And of course many more...
(Sorry about flooding you with games like that, but they are all so good - you should try them all!)
