What's fucked up about the situation is that every full-time employee in there right now is getting payed time and a half because it is New Years Day. They would have to pay me time and a half for like 3 hours if they let me just work the shift.
Unfair employee treatment?

I know in my workplace they won't allow us to take upon an extra shift if it means putting us overtime, except in really rare circumstances. If you asked a supervisor about it they probably would have told you to just come in at 3, or you're not allowed to take the shift >.< Yeah we told the supervisor and the lady who does the hours. As long as you act apologetic and at fault they'll feel 100x more empathy towards you and next time they will either try and bend the rules or help you avoid the situation altogether. That's what I would do (I've spent about 4 years in retail) | ||
