Armin/Energies Age: 24 || Height: 5'7" || Weight: 173lb/79kg Starting Date: 4th Jan 2011 || Goal Date: 31st March 2011 Weight goals -- Initially I want to spend 10-12 weeks cutting down to around 10% bf (I'm thinking I need to lose about 15lb). This isn't so much about the way I look but forcefully resetting my diet from the current crap. Training goals -- Currently on a 4 day split to allow an additional day of training and be able to do 5 spin classes a week. Also aiming for a 150kg(330) squat and 180kg(396) deadlift by the end of the year. Nutrition goals -- I cannot sustain a gluten/dairy free existence it really limits my options and I am also short on time. Instead I will just avoid bread/rice/pasta/potatoes etc.. Also, my body doesn't seem to react badly to dairy, so I will get back into the milk and yogurt. Misc goals -- Hit the gym and eat healthy while I am travelling. I will be away from home 6-8 months this year.

1.) A full front lever for about 5 seconds. 2.) Straddle Planche for 5 seconds. 3.) Manna, perhaps with iffy form but enough that people who saw it would go "holy shit". 4.) Investing heavily in CELL TECH
My goals for June(basic training time) are:
1.) 80 pushups in a minute 2.) 80 situps in a minute. 3.) 15 pullups in a minute (pretty much there already) 4.) 1.5 mile run in 8:30
GL HF ehh I don't want to sound like an ass but I don't think you should use cell tech up until your genetic potential.

Is it better to follow the madcow 5x5 or the Stronglift 5x5?

On January 01 2011 15:07 terr13 wrote: Is it better to follow the madcow 5x5 or the Stronglift 5x5? I'd go ahead and say mad cow but it really shouldn't matter as long as you're increasing your lifts at a steady pace.

madcow is a lot easier and requires a much smaller weekly tonnage. Stronglifts is better if you can support the increased workload. SS is a good middleground.

dat dere CELL TECH for dat mass and dem aestheticz.

Happy New Year TL!
PS Eshlow, your first "shopping list 1" 404s for me. It might just be me but I think it's broken.

On January 01 2011 15:07 terr13 wrote: Is it better to follow the madcow 5x5 or the Stronglift 5x5?
They're programs for different levels.
Madcow's 5x5 is aimed at the intermediate lifter who is no longer capable of sessionly progression. In other words, if you have completed a novice/advanced novice strength program, you can benefit from Madcow's.
Starting Strength and Stronglifts are for your novice lifter. The term "novice" may turn you off, but it is just defined by your experience on a sessionly progression program; some people have been in the gym for a long time and are still considered novices.
I would recommend Starting Strength over Stronglifts if you're a novice. If you're an intermediate .. well, you probably wouldn't be asking this question, no offense intended.

No, your press isn't abnormally low. You're at about the same level ("novice") on all of the lifts, although your bench is maybe slightly stronger than the rest - see www.crossfit.com/cf-journal/WLSTANDARDS.pdf for a rough guide.
