So. Before I start this off, I will say that I played 19 games today, 13 of them which were TvP. God, what the fuck is that? Anyway, so, after playing so much TvP, where my win ratio is probably around 80% (most protosses at my level just straight up don't understand the match up at all + I have a really strong economic build that involes a 1 rax FE while outright killing a 4 gate / 1 gate expand) and extracting some zerg tears, bunker rushing every TvZ, my 18th and 19th games, TvTs. Now the only reason I'm not 2800~ diamond is that my TvT sucks. I open some sort of weird 1 rax with fast stim to defend against tanks, but I just never defend against banshees, and I always get killed by good terrans in the mid game. (I always go straight up bio with no tanks) So anyway, I was fed up with my TvT, so I just said fuck it, I'm gonna try tank/viking and see how it goes. Holy fuck. Everything melted. I almost cried at how good it suddenly felt. It was like if I had just understood the universe. I suddenly realized why I was sucking in TvT, and how I should get better. Everything just felt so right.. So, still feeling dizzy, I click on find match again. Another terran. I wanted to test my new found experience of the match up and go for a cloak banshee expo that I prepared but never really used. I won so easily, too, and there were some tears involving me having no skill involved as well.
I feel new born. 3000 points, here I come. edit: forgot to say I was 2600 points

I felt the same way in my ZvP i then went up like 400 points and now i'm stuck again

lmao, sounds exactly like when I decided to click the unholy marauder icon in TvP after the patches killed mech...it was like....WOW THIS IS EASY LMAO.
seems like you had the opposite revelation for TvT...BUILD TANKS :p

Everyone around here seems to hate tank/viking TvT for some reason, but I've always felt most comfortable playing it over anything else in the matchup. I really dislike how terran is forced into marine/marauder in basically every matchup in the game, it's so stale, so at least there's a bit of a change in TvT (even though you still need a lot of bio even with tank/viking for it to be most effective).

tank viking is so stale it burns in my mouth...
two big immobile sieged tank lines staring at each other doing nothing. SO FUN RIGHT

TvT is so fucking boring as hell to play. Jesus christ, it takes so much effort to inch siege lines that I don't even do it anymore and just set up a contain early and pump out vikings so the other guy is basically fucked and expand and go battlecruiser with my high viking count.
Tank Viking is seriously the most boring crap ever and you can't really use anything against it.
And god damn, I hate it when I have a huge ass advantage and it takes me 5 minutes to take advantage of it. >.>

yeah, I feel you man. I f*cking hate tvt myself. Everytime I play like i was dreaming, it is totally up to luck or how dumb my opponent is that I can win or not. I do viking tank only with some marauder, I dont know any other build. Congrat on the 3000 points.

I only produce tanks out of one factory, => double reactor vikings & try to get a contain. after that it's always bcs :D Pure tank viking is boring IMO & loses to so many things.

tanks suck. especially on large open maps like Xelnaga. You'll only get raped.

Personally, I love TvT. I always open 1 fact seige expand basically leaving me completely defended. See a tech lab going up anywhere near a starport, build one turret at both bases and one above your tech structures and you've got banshees defended, then I play with lots of siege tanks and lots of M&M (for added mobility) and just expand everywhere at once, take my side of whatever map and just try and be as annoying as possible, like little drops with your MMM, and just slowly edge forward with your tanks until you get a good position.
People always say falling behind on the viking count is bad, it's not. I'd say the best way of dealing with it is just add more MM, I mean, yeah he can have AtA, but if you don't get any he can't use it. Also one thing I love doing is every so often getting one banshee with cloak and going to his mineral lines.
