This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |
Damn, That whole page is a massacre. I've never seen so much red.

It would have been a funny thread for the first page. It's a really funny thread when people reply AFTER all the warnings (and then again after they turn into bans) and still don't understand how to post without getting banned.

I love that it's everyone from 11 post newbies to 4000 post long time members. Really an equal-opportunity massacre.
*edit* - And who didn't see this coming?

Secondly it's pretty hilarious that a bunch of TL admin/mods feel so insecure that they need to red ink everyone's post. Somehow i don't see the connection between the ability to red ink and reading comprehension, overall knowledge, intelligence etc.
Yeah you might be better than average, but there are definitely many people much better than average. Yeah I know how offending this is to read if this so happens to be related to your general thought processes. And statistically speaking there are most certainly enough mods on here that at least one reading this will lay down you know what for taking the offense to his/her ego.
User was banned for this post.
Insulting Mods = Immediate Ban Not rocket science.

Just shows how many people don't read before posting. bah. wow...that link to such an old thread...real history there.
And "MICHELLE" always posted aggressive one-liners...good to see that thing gone.
But other than the fact that perms will force an account change (losing a name and the associated post count), it seems that 90 days are harsher, since trying to rereg during a 90 day will likely lead to further consequences, while I've seen perm'd posters come back in less than half the time.

There should be somewhere to bet on a users ban potential. After reading a small sample of his/her posts in a LR thread (basically always aggressively bashing on whoever everyone else was rooting for) I figured he/she would be a nuke icon one day. Glad to see it happen sooner rather than later.

When users like MICHELLE get banned there's always like this wealth of information that pops up about their history... and this guy only had 199 posts. Do you guys just fill user comments with stuff as you run across them or are the mods all super-cyborgs with perfect memories?
Anything interesting in my profile comments? )

Wow, that APM thread is just the kind of thread I love, interesting, nostalgic (not that I've been around here long enough to have real nostalgia but I appreciate reading those pieces of TL history), and most of all, filled to the brim with red text. My favorites are the people who specifically mention all the bans and warnings and then proceed to get banned themselves. Not reading the thread is stupid, but understandable. Seeing a bunch of warnings and bans and then not making sure you avoid the same fate is beyond stupid and completely incomprehensible.

Now if we can get the same kind of punishment going in the general threads of politics, ethics, science, etc...
People don't even read the posts they quote.

It would take one masochist of a moderator to comb through those threads. It's like something that would show up on Mike Rowe's dirty jobs.

Jibba has gone on a grand crusade against all who dare to skip an OP.

Manifesto7 picked up some himself. I think so did Hot_Bid, but I'm not sure if those bans are from that thread. Zelniq also got one, but for a different reason.

Jibba you still got a long way to go for the ban roulette numbers.

About the recent series of warnings:
It was ultimately caused by how OP wrote. Image if he only wrote the following:

Would it still be a good post? I am not sure anymore, because it merely referenced an old post with a couple of extra sentences that served no substances except empty praises of TL. So what is the point of that?
So yea, I don't know. The part that OP mentioned Razor might actually be worth something.

It comes off to me (and a number of other people I linked the thread to) as mods retroactively changing the scope of the thread. I mean, the only thing the thread even says is "look at this thing razor did; it shows TL impacted esports," yet you don't actually want anyone to talk about the razor APM mouse. It's absurd. If the thread was meant to be "lets rattle off a list of things TL did to affect esports" then it should've said that, or at the very least proposed the question of "what else has TL done [to affect esports]".
I've got good odds people didn't even recognize that the underlined text were links and not just section headings.

Also, where can I find this ban roulette? Search is failing me. + Show Spoiler +Video evidence of Mani battling trolls:
