I think there's a huge difference between these two words. Would viewers want to listen to point by point mechanics of strategy the players are doing? Viewers want to watch an amazing game not to learn startcraft. I'm sure everyone who watch GSL know the basics and stuff. And yes artosis may make a mistake sometimes but not that big of a deal.

They're both extremely funny, entertaining and interesting and I wouldn't want to change a thing! Even my housemate (who never played SC1 and has only played the SC2 single player) sits right beside me to watch every single show. :D I won't hesitate to subscribe to every single GOMtv event as long as these two are presenting.

I think tastosis have the perfect personality traits/humor for video gaming culture. We aren't old guys in our mid 40s, working 9-5s, sapped of all humor and jaded by life. I'd much rather hear free spirited and spontaneous humor and """unprofessional""" antics than the super serious business broadcasters/commentators with their PG humor meant for the older population. It's like comparing the Bill o'reilly audience with the stephen colbert audience. We are apart of a completely different overall demographic than the one that watches Monday Night Football for example, and for that reason we need casters who appeal to us, the gamers.

It would help a ton when they're reading player's names or when the camera cuts to placards in the audience. I know the language is tough, but it would be great if I could tell they understand some of it. Artosis can read Korean better than you could after a week.

The one thing I'd like to change is for artosis to stop giving his opinion on whether something is bad. That's something to say if you're teaching a sc class. Instead, weigh in on the pros and cons of whatever it is. For example, we all know artosis prefers that a player moves out with at least 4 phoenixes. If a player were to move out with 2 phoenixes, instead of saying "I really don't like this play, he should've waited for 2 more phoenixes" I wish Artosis would say "he's opting to harass as fast as he can rather than wait for more phoenixes, sacrificing strength for speed and a guaranteed surprise. Let's see if it works out for him." This way artosis doesn't look dumb when whatever he hated turns out to be pretty strong. As a viewer and player I'd like to think that the greatest minds in the game are the ones on the stage, and that they're choosing to do the things they do for good reason, therefore they probably know better than artosis, as much as he's a great player. On the other side of the spectrum I love to hear artosis praise players and talk about how great they are. He builds them up very well and this in turn puts the calibre of the players at the gsl into perspective.

Everything can be remedied by simply keeping production tab up while frequently switching which players units Tasteless has selected, but even if he doesn't choose this route there are other ways to keep viewers up to date with what is happening in game. I'm choosing to discuss the camera work specifically and not the actual casting because I really feel like Tastosis works together, even with their flaws. I love that Artosis has a tendency to be biased towards Zerg and jumps to "op" quickly. I also love that Tasteless is terrible at SC2 and points out silly things that he thinks are high level. These quirks are adorable, even though some people may not like them. The camera work, however, is a blatant flaw in the casting.

1) Some games it's like they totally forget the production tab exists, and then when some tech pops up they seem surprised by it. 2) Almost any time someone makes a decent push they can't resist saying "This will definitely be a GG here! He's going to have to GG out!". And if the defender fights off the attack for a while they'll just keep repeating how he'll have to GG, when often times he defends and counters well.

I think this is just because during the GSL 2 finals there was a "Drinking Game" thread where one of the rules was that you had to go bottoms up every time they said "This will definitely be a GG" and no GG comes up. And that they later admitted to reading that thread.

Also Tasteless is busy observing and so can't focus his thoughts entirely on small details and issues. Nice try at a criticism, but I don't think you're being realistic Day9 manages just fine. Tasteless says things that are inaccurate and just wrong. Day9, as well as plenty of other casters, are able to observe and commentate at the same time. I don't see how you can even use that as an argument when no one else has that problem. Its not like he struggles to compose his thoughts, its just that he is less knowledgeable than he could be. I think its a very easy thing to fix though. He's an excellent speaker and does an awesome personality. The knowledge is the easy part.

Back when Tasteless commentated starcraft 1, there wasn't really much of a foreigner community, so he didn't have this problem. That's probably why he seemed so much better back then.

I don't think at any point should Tasteless flat out disagree with Artosis (or the other way around) because there is no sense in arguing, but I do feel that Tasteless should offer his own opinion here and there on what he thinks the strategy may be. Well in all fairness he does that a bit, but I personally would like to hear it more rather than always reiterating what Artosis says. He is still quite a good player, even if he's not up to Artosis' caliber. Also the Artosis bias also does bother me even though it isn't as close to as bad as it gets when he's not casting. I just wish he was a random player or that he would mention some of the weaknesses the other races have against zerg, but all together I really do enjoy their casts.
