BoxeR posted on his twitter that he is making his own clan named Slayers (short name, sls). From that personal sponsorship news I posted a while ago, it may not be surprising for you to read this.
The requirement is anyone over 1800 rating in Diamond league to join, although this requirement may change as ratings fluctuate. BoxeR did note that he is not going to take in anyone who already belongs to a clan or a team.

Edit: Tanatos linked a PlayXP article, and just as I suspected, the netizens wanted proof at first. Then it was revealed on Gisado that this is true. So it is not a rumor.

I want to join!!!!!!!!!! Oof'

1800? That seems kinda low.
|
The website is pink... seems sketchy.
|
1800 seems waaaaay too low...its not very difficult for normal people to get that high even.
|
Consider that the competition on the mid to high Diamond level on the Korean server is a little bit tougher than NA. So 1800 is a bit more of saying 2000 most likely for NA, plus thats most likely a requirement to apply to join. He's probably looking to not exclude upcoming talent which is a good idea if it's true.
|
Korean 1800 != NA 1800, and I'm assuming he's only taking 1800+ from SEA
|
1800 Sounds really low unless it's aiming to be a large community of players.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the point, given that its a clan, not a team.

You have to start somewhere.
I would wager a bet that boxer doesn't want to recruit the best. He wants to find the new talent which imo would be better for the long term.

On a more realistic note, i hope this is true, a team made by SlayerSBoxeR should bring a lot of attention to Starcraft 2 from Korea furthering its influence and growth for esports.

I believe in you!!!

Yeah the Koreans differentiate between Clans and Teams more, the Clans are more of a community of players where sometimes the clan will include a Team of the best players but being a team is not their main goal. But with Boxer I'd be surprised if he wasnt trying to find some "young" talent by bringing in some of the lower ranked guys before they get the attention of the other teams.

what's this? a Korean Team name that isn't retarted?
Slayers(sls) would be a pretty cool team name
ok oGs still wins that competion
|
Ohhh very interesting. I guess he will use this to scout out up and coming players for his new team.

ok oGs still wins that competion I bet he´ll change the name in the last second to "Powergamer superstars".

the relatively low rating and the rule that he doesn't take players from other teams really make it look like some "talent scout" project

i don't see anything about this on playxp, so i'm rather skeptical

1800 Seems low, even for the Korean server.
However, I do not doubt that the Emperor knows exactly what he is doing.

I always thought Slayers was already a clan, and his own screen-name was just Boxer?
I mean, it's SlayerS in the plural, right?
