I basically have 2.5 people inside of my head
You might need help. You can't take this issue lightly. One day you'll harm either yourself, either some innocent bystander. The people you talk about are trying to HELP you, they are not trying to brainwash you or shut you down. They are doing this for your own sake, and the sake of the people who love you.
|
Go to a therapist, just to check how much of a problem that is, and to see the path to the solution. He/she'll tell you what's best to do then. Psychotherapists are like any other doctor, but they're focused on the mind.
They usually give you some drugs to take on daily basis and schedule some talks/therapy sessions from time to time. It's like when a normal doctor gives you something for your cold and makes an appointment for later, to check if the drug therapy worked.
Asylum is only if things get out of control a bit, and it's not such a big thing/unusual unless you're seriously ill - people go there for short periods of time all the time.

It's only a problem if you can't control it. Unless you literally hear multiple people talking to you in your head, I think you have a fairly common problem in young men. I often have incredibly homicidal urges, usually in random spots. I probably spend a good hour a day picturing how to efficiently murder someone. As long as you can keep it in check, I don't think it's too much of a big deal.
Now, if you can't discern those urges from what you really want to do, then you need help. Same goes with multiple voices physically telling you to stab your teacher.

Hmm I cant tell if im being trolled or if you need to go to a therapist. You obviously should see someone about this and not just go straight to an asylum, but you need to see someone.

I basically have 2.5 people inside of my head there is me, and then there are my two sides of equal reason, they are personified, and one of them is a bit more animalistic (literally and figuratively). People are concerned that I will just be %100 that side, which has happened before, and think I will go around attacking people and stuff
I feel very uncomfortable with giving out any sort of advice because this is so far removed from everything I encountered so far in life. I can base my comments on no experience or expertise beside what just popped into my head spontanously when reading your posts.
If you are 15 years of age, you will be an adult in a few years. If nothing else, you should be very sure you will not scratch or bite others by then, the law does not allow these things and can punish you quite severely. You might get away easier because of a mental disorder, but telling the jury you had this since you were 6 but never had anyone officially diagnose it might not be very promising I guess.
Also I heard some kinds of psychosis will get continually worse untreated, so you should at the very least talk to a therapist and ask his professional opinion on the matter. If you totally disagree with the therapist, it can be useful to hear a second opinion from another therapist, but do not use this as an excuse for denial.
One of the best strategies to not be thrown into an asylum is probably to admit you need help and get help by seeking it yourself before it gets to the point where your behaviour will give others legal reasons for putting you into an asylum against your will.

Refer to court hearings.
People who premeditate murder cannot be tried as insane, etc.
Medical insanity differs from legal insanity.
I like the legal insanity better because according to wikipedia even I'm insane.
That is bullshit.

The TeamLiquid blogs section isn't nearly qualified enough to give you help for this kind of problem. Talk to your parents, see a Psychiatrist, and follow their professional advice. They will be more mindful of your needs and what is best for you than strangers on an internet forum.

you're 15, if an adult comes to you with concerns tell them your friend is crazy so as not to exacerbate it. laugh it off. its either that or own up to it and seek counseling/therapy. my school had counselors who would talk with you about anything you wanted, if that's an option it's accessible and free. the last place you'd end up is in an asylum, that would be only if you snapped and did something crazy. personally at your age i had a bit of craziness too, and if i was giving advice to my self from the past i'd tell him to give it a couple years, it gets better. idk if he believe me tho

really teamliquid, are you this naive.
this is coming from a 15 year old, most likely lonely, who has little to no friends who's looking for something interesting to do.
as for the kid, if this is actually true, which i highly doubt, why the fuck would you listen to your friends? and for the record, schizophrenia is really noticable. hell, teachers would prolly send you to the guidance councelor and cause concern for your parents for a psychologist.
seriously, go find a hobby.
and episodes where you have more than one personality is farfetched. your parents or some other person would see this.
bullshit blog.
oh, ya, i just read your teamliquid posts. if youre interested enough in teamliquid to post some bullshit blog about your psychosis, why not post in any other blogs( which there are a lot of) where people are discussing their mental problems.

He thought he could keep it under control, but it got worse and worse until, I think was a junior in college at the time. he completely flipped out in front of all his friends and classmates and started ranted about things that weren't real. He scared a lot people that were close to him, and, worst of all, he doesn't remember any of it, including what brought it on.
At first I resisted all the help they tried to give me, but eventually gave into it, and it actually helped a lot. If you go voluntarily, and accept that these are people that are trying to help you, you might get a lot out of it. I'm not saying that you have to go in there and agree to change, but at least listen to what they have to say, and be 100% honest with them. If you are, chances are they'll let you out in three or four days for out-patient stuff.
Also, I don't know what the laws are in your state, or how old you are, but where it happened to me the rules were like this: if you get committed against your will, they can hold you for up to two weeks, after which you can get a lawyer to get you out, but it's very hard. If you go on your own accord, you can leave whenever you like. Also, the crazy person van is very uncomfortable, and they take away your shoelaces :-p.
Feel free to pm me if you want.
Listen to this man. Even with severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia, one can often live a close to normal life with proper treatment. Untreated however, things can be much worse.
If you honestly weigh the pros and cons of seeking help for this you will realize it is the best thing you can do. You seem to be afraid that if you go to the "loony bin" once you will forever be marked as a crazy person and shut off from the rest of society. I hope more people who have spent time in such institutions can convince you that that is not the case. And also, as other people have said, you should start by seeing some kind of therapist; this will make it far less likely that you ever need to be in an inpatient situation in the first place.

If you hear voices in your head you pretty much have schizophrenia. Its pretty much impossible you'll be locked up for it though. You'll probably get diagnosed, get meds and have to go to a psychotherapist every so often.
Also whitesheep you are an uninformed idiot. Schizophrenia happens on a continuum, its not you either have it and everyone will notice or you don't have it.

This is so cool! Do you talk to your alternatives and do other things? Do you have deep philosophical conversations? Do you actually see the people walk around in your vision? And most importantly, did you ever try to make another doppelganger who is a girl and force her to walk around naked all the time?

you're so full of shit, as if you had any examples of this. people with such ignorance to try and outcast anyone with a mental disorder WOULD become a pariah.

actually you're the idiot. it's enough to effect your daily functions. and yes it would be noticable. you have to be legally diagnosed with it, meaning you have to be of age. which in this case, if it were legit, he wouldnt be able to be diagnosed of it
you're a real fucking moron. ppl like you ruin teamliquid. Thankfully i have experience, and just skim these posts, but your stupidity is irritating.
just fyi, you misused continuum, in which case you helped my argument.

also, to OP, you won't get classified as "insane" you'll just be diagnosed with whatever mental illness you do have (probably schizophrenia). It's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. Mental illnesses are as real and as legitimate as physical illnesses and don't indicate any weakness or inadequacies on your part.
My advice, go see a psychologist, get diagnosed, get some meds, get some counselling, get better.
