Now, before I tell you anything about insanity, the people who want me classified as insane have no validity to their argument.
There are some people who have heard about a psychological problem that I have had since I was little, and now they are trying to put me into an asylum so that I am "normal".
There argument is basically this: You are not normal, and since you think in this particular way you are close enough to Dissociative Identity Disorder and Schitsofrenia that we are gonna tell your parents to put you into the asylum.
This may hint on what happens in my mind, but I would like to keep it a little more private.
Another part of their argument (these are former friends btw) is that if I don't go into an asylum (for a bit, like 3 months) I might go crazy and snap and act a specific way that I have very little control over.
So, any suggestions on to 1. Not get classified as insane 2. Not get thrown into an asylum?
edit: ugh, really don wanna talk bout it, but I do have internet anonymity, so hell.
I basically have 2.5 people inside of my head there is me, and then there are my two sides of equal reason, they are personified, and one of them is a bit more animalistic (literally and figuratively). People are concerned that I will just be %100 that side, which has happened before, and think I will go around attacking people and stuff
btw, don't respond to the user "Whitesheep" he is trolling

Oo how old are you?
This doesn't make any sense. So your friends told you you should be treated? Go to an asylum (are there no shrinks in your area or what?) And you are afraid they tell your parents about whatever it is you have?
Yeah well.. fuck them? If you think you are fine you don't have to give a shit about what they say. But you should talk with your parents about it. If you don't think you are "insane", why would they? Or a shrink?

I don't want to talk to my parents about it too much because they will just hound me with questions, and possibly send me to an asylum.
15 years old btw.

I think everyone needs more details on what kind of 'insane' you are, as much as people would like to help there just isnt enough information here to suggest anything.

Shrink is another word for therapist.

You sound really paranoid.

I got thrown into the looney bin against my will a few years ago. It was really a wake-up call to me. I had let a problem get worse and worse, telling myself that I could deal with it and that it wouldn't interfere with my life. It did. And while I was in there, I saw people much, much farther along than me who also hadn't taken steps to deal with it. One guy who I roomed with probably had something fairly similar to you. He thought he could keep it under control, but it got worse and worse until, I think was a junior in college at the time. he completely flipped out in front of all his friends and classmates and started ranted about things that weren't real. He scared a lot people that were close to him, and, worst of all, he doesn't remember any of it, including what brought it on.
At first I resisted all the help they tried to give me, but eventually gave into it, and it actually helped a lot. If you go voluntarily, and accept that these are people that are trying to help you, you might get a lot out of it. I'm not saying that you have to go in there and agree to change, but at least listen to what they have to say, and be 100% honest with them. If you are, chances are they'll let you out in three or four days for out-patient stuff.
Also, I don't know what the laws are in your state, or how old you are, but where it happened to me the rules were like this: if you get committed against your will, they can hold you for up to two weeks, after which you can get a lawyer to get you out, but it's very hard. If you go on your own accord, you can leave whenever you like. Also, the crazy person van is very uncomfortable, and they take away your shoelaces :-p.
Feel free to pm me if you want.
EDIT: Also, if anyone wants to pm me about this kind of stuff, feel free.

So have your other sides ever displayed overly violent tendencies towards other people?

Did you diagnose this yourself? If so, it is very well possible that you are imagining it. If not you should talk tt a therapist. He should decided if you should be admitted to an asylum.

I thought a shrink is a psychotherapist? English is not my first language t.t So going to a shrink = going to a doctor Going to an asylum = going to the hospital
I hope the analogy fits ^_^ At least here in Germany being sent to an asylum means the person has SERIOUS problems. What you describe sounds more like some puberty problem. If you don't want to talk about it I can understand that, but that way it's hard to tell if you should get help or not. So, if you think you are fine, don't worry about it. Still, you parents are your parents. At one point or another, you want to talk to them, trust me. No matter how old you are (I'm 29 btw), if you have problems, you will always be glad that they are there. But maybe that's just me
€: uuuuh, I'm no psychotherapist, but what you describe doesn't sound normal. Seriously. If you have this since you are six.. I mean I don't know, maybe you get or are schizophrenic , maybe that should be treated because it can get worse. If I were you I'd definitely ask a professional about it

Sorta, the animal side is just a bit more instinctual, I have bitten people, and scratched people before, not to mention I tend to threaten a lot of people who walk into my room. Though I don't harm many people anymore unless I get very hyped up by something.

Ok anyway, you should talk to a therapist. I am certainly no expert here, but your psychological situation can probably become harmful for either you or the ones around you.

If you actually do go around attacking people when you are in your other state and you have no control over it, then it would be correct to put you in an asylum. People are placed in asylums when they are deemed to be a safety hazard to those around them. If this is the case, the best thing you can do is to accept it. Heck it may even be a ticket out of the asylum. If you are logical enough to realize that you are a threat to those around you and you need to be placed in an asylum, it may be a sign that you are not crazy and they won't put you in for very long.
Now if this wasn't the case and you don't go around attacking people, then try to act as a rational and logical person. The people that decide whether you go to an asylum or not are highly intelligent and educated. If you don't appeal to their logic, they won't give a shit where you end up. Try to gain their respect and it will pay off.

Meh, just do activities/rituals that help you to focus on one facet (Your preferred one). If you can manage to have 2.5 people inside your head but only one is the dominate one you should be fine for the most part.
You also might want to probably work on building your self control so you don't snap, so just start with little things, like kicking all your bad habits and being able to make a chocolate bar last more then a day (I can't even do that last one). Eventually you want to be able to work your way up to the point of being able to positively reinforce one mental state while also being able to positively punish another when it asserts itself.

Insane people don't know they are insane.
Refer to court hearings.
People who premeditate murder cannot be tried as insane, etc.
Edit: See a shrink? Too many young teenagers make assumptions that they have "bi-polar" or "schizophrenia" with nothing more than a few symptoms, but no grasp of what the disorder actually entails.

Medical insanity differs from legal insanity.
