Since sc2 came out, I've been seeing mechanical keyboards all over the place. Is there a reason that players are just now starting to use them? Why don't any bw players? For so long everyone only talked about the dt-35, looks like that has changed now. i think it's just because there is so many more options now for a long time all you had to choose from was IBM model M or unicomp Cherry has also been around since forever, like that IBM model M stuff. I remember "Made in West Germany" mechanical Cherry keyboards, so those must have been from before 1990. I guess the BW progamer houses bought their stuff in bulk, so all players got the same DT-35 keyboard and Logitech mouse. Now, the players moving out and going solo for a while before getting into SC2 team houses, had to buy their own gear, and started to look around at other options. :D Ofc you discount that these keyboards and stuff wasn't given to them by someone who would benefit from them using it.

Canadian custom sucks. Mine took a whole week in Canadian customs. Waiting for this keyboard is the longest I've ever had to wait for a shipment from the US. Also, you might want to track that package using Canada Post (since it is now in Canadian Customs) because I found it more detailed than the USPS website. A whole week? or like in customs monday released on friday? Because mine is in customs today (monday) and I hope to get it on friday. Mine went in Customs on a Saturday and it didn't come out until the second Tuesday after. You should really stop checking it online if you do because it would just kill you.
WTF.... 10 days for a keyboard..... wow...I really hope they get used to so many keyboards being shipped in, that they realize that its just a keyboard and release mine fast.

Can you rebind the keys on this? Not talking macros, say '6' remapped to 'f1'.

No. Download a program for that. Mechanical keyboards are exactly what they sound like. Mechanical. There's nothing digital about them.

I order heaps of obscure things from overseas online and I have never had anything take more than 24 hours getting through customs...

Where can I go to test out cherry keyboards with their different color switches?
Frys and Microcenter don't even carry them

I think it more so depend on how many things are going through customs at that time so I would assume it can be sooner.

Did you customs dates happened to go through thanksgiving? Maybe lots of stuff going through then. I can't really see holidays being a big deal for customs, so I'd expect there'd be around the same amount of stuff for them to filter everyday. I don't even know if what I just said made sense, I'm going crazy waiting for this thing.

Well microcenter does carry an Adesso keyboard that uses cherry blues but beyond that idk.

To try out some different switches I borrowed a friend's Filco, and another friend's Topre Realforce. Not many retailers carry them. You might see a Steelseries 6Gv2 or G7 (black) or Razer Black Widow (blue) and try those. Browns feel about like the blues but without the extra clicky sound in the middle of the stroke.
Next best bet is to ask around geekhack.org.

I got mine today. Love it.

Mine got released by customs today. Customs are in missisagua and I'm in scarborough. Any idea how long it takes canada post to mail it here? Missisagua and scarborough are both in toronto btw for anyone who doesn't know. So I'd imagine that the package would arrive tomorrow since its out of customs already and its basically in the city. Any thoughts? I'm going crazy waiting for this thing.

After it's released from customs it needs to be processed by Canada Post then it'll be sent to your city. Mine was processed at Vancouver,BC and delivered to Winnipeg, MB in 2 days. Use Canada Post tracking since it's in their hands now, it'll use the same tracking number.

I just got mine (cherry brown non-nkro) keyboard today after ordering it on the 11th of this month. (didn't get any notice email or anything...)
had to pay an extra $18.40 in brokerage fees :/
it's definitely a nice keyboard though, noisier than my old one but the keys feel very light to type on

Nice so I'll get mine in 2 days max. Cause its being processed in Missisauga and I live in Scarborough and I can literally drive there to get it... so it'll be a short delivery trip.
Thanks for your info; I hope I don't get charged customs fees.

shipping was like 23 euros or something like that, the total cost after everything was around 170 CAN for me. This is for the pink filco with brown mx and NKRO.
