You have to remember sometimes the english language gets to the point much faster then another. I could be wrong but I'd say that's the issue. Nah the translator is either just bad or is just summarizing on purpose like another poster said. The kid actually went into great detail why he didn't go immortal :|

Also I don't have trouble translating Artosis as he puts the sentence brief and to the point. The playes however, do lot of stuttering and drag on. I am instructed to summarize them as best as I can. I do not blame the players however, as many of them have no experience in interviewing in front of live camera and it's also hard for them to concentrate to the questions after winning a match. As I have mentioned before, my primary job is keeping track of foreign reaction and I read every single thread related to GSL. Your threads have been very helpful and I thank you for your great interest.

Ah, thats really cool of him then. I thought they just plain out hired a translator.

The immortal answer went something like this.
During the beta [this is implied], roaches were very effective against gateway units, but after all the nerfs, he feels that blink stalkers are a good enough unit to count them with.
|
If I was asked why such a massive use of stalkers, I would answer that there's no point in playing protoss unless you can abuse blink stalkers and force fields.

I'm Korean American. The translations are summarized but they are definitely on point. Sometimes they could be a tad bit better, mainly because I'm sure the translator doesn't know how to translate some words into english but, again, for the most part he is doing a great job.

although cute, to be honest, I don't really buy it - what I think was that he knew he was pretty underestimated and wanted to show his skill; he is #18 on the korean ladder after all
still, I know you will hate me, but it has to be said: he didn't play against terran; eg. escjung's PvZ is amazing, I'm sure he would've made it against any zerg pretty easily (excepting idra, cool, check ofc)

go HongUn , nice interview

That was the final day of ro64 right? If so when the round of 32 starts?

Yeah people being way to harsh on the translator. Why comment unless you speak the language yourself and can confirm it? Otherwise be happy we are even allowed to watch.

i am korean american as well and translator actually doing a good job. not translating word for word but delivering the key points across. however, he does still leave minor details though.

THis tournament has been so good so far, great casting, good stream and so many games every day!
|
So there's only 2 games being played tomorrow but 5 being played the day after. That's a little odd I think.
EDIT: wait scratch that, just saw the date : /

Good job GOM

I wish people would stop posting a series of useless numbers without context and imply that they are useful statistics. How many of those are mirror matchups, which matchups were more prevalent. What are the win rates on the matchups. Even then the statistics would not be useful out of such a small sample size -.- but at least there would be context.
