So for the longest time I would say that war3's b.net was better than sc2's b.net in every way, except for the chains that appeared every time you changed menus.
Well now, no. because instead of 6-8 seconds of wasted time watching chains per game, i spend 30 seconds watching the stupid ass timer click down.
Why would blizzard think a 30 second timer is necessary? I just don't understand. The more I watch what's happening to b.net 2.0, the less i understand what is happening.

You can set the timer length in map properties. Blame map editors, not blizzard.

oh really?
all this time my hate has been misplaced!?
I feel so foolish

It's under Map > Game Varients > Attributes Tab > (Game) Lobby Delay. If the map makers set that to a different time then it should get rid of the default 30 second timer.

Some people need time to decide whether they want to bail the game or not you know?

What I don't understand is why the only reason to leave once the 30 second countdown has started is to log off :[

the things that piss me off i there is no clan support or cross realm play.

That, and they need to fix the custom game list. You can't play anything but the most popular ~5 games because that's all anybody ever joins. It's not that nobody wants to try something new, the problem is that if you join something different, you're probably joining and empty room, and you gotta wait until other people join too. But no one ever does, because they expect the room to be empty.
See, Bnet (1.0) was good. You made a game, people saw the game and joined, knowing there were people in there, waiting for it to fill up to play. Instead, we have this huge list of EMPTY LOBBIES, and there's no way to tell if there's anybody in any of the rooms. Try playing a 3v3 BGH on Bnet 2.0. Can't happen. It's like 50 pages down the list in popularity. It's not that nobody wants to play the game, it's that they don't ever see it, even when there's someone in the lobby waiting. Can't even get a 1v1 on the less popular ladder maps. Custom maps, like the beautiful Devotion by prodiG? In your dreams, bro.
To give a poker analogy, imagine an online poker client where you couldn't see how many people were at a table. And you could only be at one table at a time. You join a game, empty table. You can sit there and wait an eternity hoping for someone else to come (or for SEVEN more people to come, lol), or you can go to the next table. Eventually, you'll give up and just play one of the few most popular variants (.05/.10 NLHE) because that's the only place you actually know you'll be able to play, rather than wait until you die.
It's so unbelievably stupid.
