Nice rank. Fantasy earned his #3, and I can finally get behind Sea at a high ranking because he's been taking out real players in individual leagues.
My only quibble: Don't kid yourself that Effort has "figured out" how to beat Flash's late game. Yes, he's managed to mindfuck Flash several times in a row, but I don't think imagining him winning a long standard game against Flash is the same as actually seeing him do it.
In their MSL game, Effort used a one-time strategy. It was a very good strategy and it netted him a win, but I don't think "fake lurker bust, build only two lurkers and hope Flash doesn't scan or push out until I tech defilers" is very reliable in the long term.

Basing everything on a single month doesn't make sense by any stretch of the imagination. Certainly not if you're trying to determine "who is the strongest." The reality is that some players might not play many games or might run through a brief rough stretch.
As I've said 5897356937 times now, you need something to determine if the rough stretches are just blips in the road or something more meaningful, because nobody ever has maintained a truly flawless record.
To use Jaedong as an example, does anyone remember April of 2008? JD went an abysmal 1 win 4 losses that month, dropping out of the OSL. His rank on PR was #2. And it was justified, because as it turned out, these were just blips on the road.
And this month, our rank 1 position is debatable. The games coming up this next month should be -- as I said -- very telling either way.
Personally, I think Plexa's adherence to two months is perhaps a little rigid for my taste. For example, I don't think Baby should be anywhere near this Power Rank and Plexa must surely be counting Baby's play in early June if Baby is ranked even as high as CBNC. I've never seen anyone crash and burn so thoroughly. But I understand why Plexa does it: to help remove subjectivity from the system.
Funny, because he gets criticized tremendously for subjectivity anyway.

Pretty much the same PR i made here, but i would got out Light for crumbling against WeMade in an easy match and put ForGG there.

I think he just had a little mini-slump since there were no Starleagues to own in. Given that JD could've had the #1 last month but didn't get it, which by the way meant that Flash broke the #1 streak record , I'm quite ok with him getting it this month instead (although I disagree with it). Flash will retake it soon enough. Dual finals once more! I genuinely hope that this happens. I much prefer having Flash at the top and jaedong fans raging. It's more fun that way

Only when it's too hard to tell the difference between players. If it's really close between 9/10 over one month, I'll look to the month before as well to try get a clean separation. It's been close between JD/Flash for the past two ranks.

He is just in quarterfinals in MSL is 1:0 in his group in OSL and he is in the playoff finals with KT. He definitely doesn't deliver anymore... 0-7 in his last 7 ace matches...no he is NOT playing up to his expectations and delivering the way the best player in the game should be. The last 2 months flash's record has barely been above 50%. For that he doesn't deserve to be #1. Is he still playing very well? Duh. Is he still amazing? Yea. Is he winning as much as you would expect the #1 player to? No. That's what counts in a monthly power ranking. Also, this round KT won their only sets without him so I don't see how him being in the finals is particularly relevant right now. It's relevant since he's been delivering when he needed to so far. I'm OK with Jaedong being no1 but Flash shouldn't be any lower than no2. Though I have to admit that personally I would have switched the ordering of Flash and Jaedong. Anyway, the next month will show who of those two is really better.
He's 0-7 in his last 7 ace matches, yet hes delivering when it counts? If it wasn't for STX's slump KT would have lost their #1 spot. Jaedong had the better record, plain and simple, and aside from that shitty night vs SKT where he lost to bisu and s2, he's been delivering consistently for his team in proleague. No question he deserves #1 more than flash, I don't see how anybody could argue that (with it being a monthly power rank and all.
Oh right, I see that KT symbol

Those ace matches were last month so why the hell are you bringing them up? Seeing as its a monthly power rank and all.

But then I think to myself, what if Effort were playing in this position and not Zero? Well the answer is, and was, that Effort would win (see their clash on Fighting Spirit). Effort has Flashes number and knows how to defeat his late-game turtle style
No...
Effort has only won twice straight up against flash, once on Judgment Day (rides massive early game advantage into victory) and once on Fighting Spirit (forgot what happened in this game). But I don't see beating flash straight up once or twice = having flash's number. I saw more Effort wins with zergling rushes and muta all-ins, and Effort's ZvT is by no means consistent.

Awesome to see BeSt at 10, he definitely has been a key for T1 this postseason.
Edit: what about Calm? Just curious because I see no discussion of him here at all.

Probably because Calm has not been PR worthy the past couple of months. He slumped hard and while he's showing some signs of maybe pulling out of it, the fact is that he pretty much lucked into making it past Stats, who fucked up at a key moment.

It is impossible to think his play has inspired any confidence.

Good read, i have to agree. I just think its funny that if you look at the teams of these 10 players, you see most of the teams that were in the post season, but the teams that are missing are FOX and STX. lol remember when calm was really good? i kind of do.

I definitely agree with this month's power ranking. Jaedong feels like the scariest player out there right now, and honestly Flash has been disappointing since his OSL loss. I'm quite surprised how effective Bisu was after his vacation, I thought his slump had finally done him in - but I was clearly wrong. And of course, my favorite player YUM BO SUNG (Sea) IS FINALLY GOING TO BREAK THE CURSE! Hopefully he wins the whole thing :D

HiyA have done well, and with his humourous actions and look, I want to see him in the OSL final.

Last month and extended into early this month if we're getting picky. Either way, when theres some sort of a dispute between two players, or when one goes relatively inactive (like Flash this month), people usually call on on trends from last month too.

Bisuuuu!! My #1 toss
I agree with 1-3, EffOrt at 4... Idk.

it's not like had stats not canceled storm he would of won. he would of not died as quickly, but calm was massively ahead by the time storm would of been done.
as a huge calm fan I see calm slowly regaining his confidence with some solid wins over stats and zergs (dont forget his MSL wins from Ro32). Clearly he doesnt belong on PR though becuase there are a lot more deserving players (really not even CBNC), but I think he might be unslumping. his ZvP has always kinda been "cheesy" but even then all protoss expect him to cheese and he still wins a lot (not just vs stats but over his career it's been this way).
I look forward to seeing how he does vs fantasy in MSL, especially since it's the ONLY thing he has to practice for now. And calm always performs better in individual leagues than proleague (or at least ever since he won the MSL this has been the case), I think he's does a lot better with proper preparation than most other players do (similar to fantasy).

and yea woulda liked to see hiya on at least CBNC. he was totally shunned last month

last month i'd been fine with jaedong at first but this month i expected flash to keep his spot.
