You can't really use that as a reflection of the current state of Effort's play, whether or not he's currently bad vs. mech.

Looking forward to Skyhigh taking a spot on the Power Rank, I don't know if I think Fantasy should be number 3, maybe 5. Bisu has been like a wrecking ball, I would switch the two, but that's my personal opinion. Great Power Rank this cycle!

End of last month JD fans were still bitching about his mistreatment, and now a lot of ardent JD supporters think he should be below Flash. Really the Ranks 1/2 situation is a toss up. Getting to see Flash vs ForGG in their upcoming TvT series is going to be the real test and should be very telling. There's no reason to believe that Flash is weakened in either TvP or TvZ. The question we need answered is: were Flash's recent TvT losses just blips in the road, or a sure sign that he's worked out and that his reign is over? JD has been strong across the board, but i don't see him as unbeatable in any match, including ZvP. His series against Kal was not the spectacular rape I expected and although Kal seemed more like the Kal of old, let's face it: Kal has been struggling for the past 3 months or so. In ZvZ, we now have Effort within spitting distance. And in ZvT, we have several players who I think have good odds against him. The real test for JD is going to come soon as well: I've been hypothesizing for months that a meeting between JD and Light would result in a victory for Light. Historically, Light is 5 wins 7 losses against JD and recently Light's TvZ has looked better than ever for the past 6 months or so. Since the start of Winner's League, Light has gone 20 wins and 2 losses vs Zerg (a whopping 91 percent wins). Sea's TvZ looks almost as strong. And I've been hypothesizing over the past 2-3 months that Effort's ZvZ is every bit as strong as JD's and capable of pulling a victory. Effort is now within spitting distance of JD in ZvZ ELO. This bracket for MSL almost seems to have me in mind: it will reveal a lot about both Flash and Jaedong. Regarding the rest of the PR: Unless you're counting last night's games (which I didn't see), I don't know why Fantasy is still third. Yes he won over Effort, but I'm inclined to say that Effort is the only player in the world who can safely say that he is able to challenge the dominance of Flash and Jaedong in any match-up. Be careful if you want to argue with me on this: I am not saying that Effort is better. Flash and Jaedong are both more "well-rounded." But Effort at his strongest is every bit as strong as these two. When I look at Jaedong's play, I always compare it to Effort in any match-up. When I look at Flash's TvZ, I always ask, "How would Effort have played that?" In my mind, Effort is the indisputable #3. Sea/Fantasy is a toss up. Both of them had the most difficult match lists imaginable (they both had more difficult opponents than either Flash or Jaedong last month). If I could, I'd consider ranking them both for a tie at #4. The rest of the top 10 looks okay except I think Hiya should have been considered. Speaking of which where is Hiya in at the very least CBNC? Over the past 2 months he is 14 wins and 6 losses. Okay, he dropped out of MSL, but he has a very good chance of progressing in OSL despite having remaining games against Flash and Zero. Hiya is 18 wins and 8 losses in TvT in 2010 (averaging 70% wins). He's not the TvT pushover he used to be. And his TvZ may not be S-class, but it's very stable. I wouldn't have put Kal in the CBNC. He has once or twice showed us a glimmer of who he used to be, but his results have been mediocre on the whole. And Baby? Why is he being mentioned? Yes he's talented, but he's been playing like suck. If Baby had played this month like he was playing 2-3 months ago, then WeMade would have had a good shot to advance. Instead he was practically a free win for MBC. A player who has only 1 win in his last 10 games should not be anywhere near the Power Rank.

BTW: Flash strategy is not only turtling! He can cheese, he can do timing pushes, he can use mech vZ, he can attack with Valkyries and M&M etc. Its not that easy to "solve" Flash strategy! Lets not forget about 14cc. Not many Terran players can pull off a 14cc!

The last 2 months flash's record has barely been above 50%. For that he doesn't deserve to be #1. Is he still playing very well? Duh. Is he still amazing? Yea. Is he winning as much as you would expect the #1 player to? No. That's what counts in a monthly power ranking. Also, this round KT won their only sets without him so I don't see how him being in the finals is particularly relevant right now.

I'm OK with Jaedong being no1 but Flash shouldn't be any lower than no2. Though I have to admit that personally I would have switched the ordering of Flash and Jaedong. Anyway, the next month will show who of those two is really better.
