My friends and practice partners and I are scrounging up money in a complex battle to send a paypal payment for tournament entry fees. The guy with the cash (me) has no debit or credit cards, the guy that normally would have cash and debit cards- lost his wallet a couple of days ago. We are also 30 miles apart and havent slept all night due to starcraft2 awesome training sessions. I have money but no food and wont be able to sleep or eat well if I take care of it.
Fortunately we had a strategy discussion and came up with the perfect build order!
A few people have been saying that it simply isnt possible to become a professional starcraft 2 player but situations like the one I am in now are only fueling my passion for the game. When I wake up from my hour sleep (if I can sleep at all) my mind will immediately become locked onto starcraft. I will find energy to walk quickly to rite aid and purchase the prepaid visa to pay the fees (before noon too, haha) I will eat plain noodles and bum coffee at the lan center i train @ so I can stream my play and talk to a friendly coach figure in the Netherlands named Ruben (thanks Ruben! <3)
Id like to thank all korean players for their inspirational level of dedication!
I know I will not have a podium finish at the tournament but I will probably learn some valuable lessons for the next one.
BSBZerg!

just because you are mass practicing does not mean it is good practice. But gl, and what tournament are you talking about?

Good luck with all this. Doesn't sound like a healthy lifestyle by any means, but if you're happy with what you're doing I don't really have anything to say to that.

He is almost certainly participating in training montages set to eye of the tiger

BallMan should do more 1v1 ladder and play with harder opponents.

i definitely see that vibe in this blog; the endurance of the discomfort and lack of hope.

you're streaming your games, you have a coach no one has ever heard of, and you have strategy discussions to come up with "the perfect build order"
if your living situation is really as thin as you make it seem you should give up now

Seems more like you are disillusioned as opposed to following a dream :S
|
oh. playing sc2 doesn't mean you have to have bad sleeping patterns. you're going to burn out.
|
yeah alex. I normally sleep really well- just had some complications that night. Im going to sleep really well tonight and get up bright and early tomorrow so I can play while refreshed. I feel much better when I train during the day as opposed to the middle of the night after working etc.

Whoa. The real SC2 pro-gamer speaks the truth here.

lol idra my "perfect build order" was referring to getting the money togather and was a joke- and so was this post haha.
<3 you though
|
Alright, sleeping patterns are comign along well. Trying to go to bed right when I get home from work (which is like 12). Also taking a few more shifts so I can eat a litttleee better. They money is not much of a problem tbh- i make plenty- im just a busser rather than a waiter at the moment because there arent any positions open. When one does open I will be able to only work 3 days a week and try and not suck full time :D.

and hey, sometimes you have to live poorly to take the time to actually dedicate yourself to something- especially if its as awesome as starcraft

Thank god.
Also good luck op. Don't listen to Idra; he was a poor scrub once. In fact you'll find every foreign pro was a poor scrub who applied themselves.
