The best gun being an engineer is AKS-74U it does more damage and its more accurate than the UMP. I would use the RPG over the AT Launcher anytime cause its reload speed.

Practically everyone uses the Carl G + Rocket Munitions + Explosive upgrade as their main kit. With upgrade Carl G does decent damage to tanks and with its straight projectory sniping infantry and choppers are a breeze, not the mention the extra splash damage. edit: And the Colt .45 is still the best pistol. Accurate and packs a punch.

The Island Map is honestly one of the worst, it encourages* to many recon users that cant shoot a standing target or have idiots taking the Black Hawks and giving it to the defenders. edit: Im getting really bored of Port Valdez. What is this VIP pack, its complete bullocks.

I like the XM8C for the engie, different maps call for different anti-tank.

As a person who has been playing shooters forever, I find it quite playable. Automatic weapons are a little shaky, sniper registry is pretty solid. I thought BF1942 was one of the greatest multiplayer games ever and every DICE title since then has really disappointed. BC2 is a very solid game. I just got a new, top of the line rig, so I've been having lots of fun with it when I need a break from laddering. Biggest problems are the unlock system (having no control over what you are getting) and just overall performance issues. Load times are bad and the game isn't nearly as clean and polished as MW2, but it is just as fun. The maps are really incredible and the non-hit box related parts of the Frostbite Engine are quite strong. The FULLY destructible environments that game makers have been dreaming of are becoming closer by the year. Definitely worth picking up if you ask me.

But the hit detection is terrible since they havent fixed the connection problems. Ive had many times had problems knifing someone and have the knife only touch them but not actually kill them. Or shoot someone when they're at a certain position or something(Cant clearly explain it) but you will see that the bullets are actually affecting them but no damage is registered. Ive honestly never seen any players below 90 latency and usually 75% of the players have over 250 ping which is amazing. -___- I have gotten about 100 hours in including the dreaded beta so far, its fun. I can also blame my crappy rig for some of rage, running everything on low + dx9. It runs fine but when it gets intense it just dips or freezes. Oh... And the game can crash often which is annoying, either from clicking on the server browser or EA servers crapping on themselves.

Conquest Mode of Africa Harbor is so fun but too many grenade spamming and not enough rushing to cap a flag, As for Rush Mode of Laguna Presa this map reminds me of that map in BF2 which I have no idea the name of it. Rocket Launcher > Boat

The hit registry of the frostbite engine doesn't have the same smooth feeling as CoD which is a shame, but this isn't really meant to be played like CoD. What i like most about this game is the sense of realism. It's better than any RL military exercise i've ever participated in - you never feel safe, the sound is alarming, bullets and flack rain everywhere and even when you're in a vehicle you're very exposed. I've never been to war and i hope i'll never have to - but this captures the adrenaline pumping thrill (with the risk being a worse K:D ratio, not mutilation or death :p) in the same way a good war movie does. My only real big gripe with the game is that they could have made online play a lot easier to embrace. I'll speak from my own experience here: for a long while i'd run around, happily participating in squad rushes, keep my trigger finger pumping and doing my best to survive. However - it soon became apparent that while one burst from my assault rifle would only wound enemies unless i shot them in the head or softened them up with grenades first; while they would only need one stream of random spam bullets to hit me for me to go down. This got old really fast and i started thinking - do i even hit them properly at all? So, coincidentally i joined a Kill Cam: ON game and thus found out what was going on. The people i bursted who bursted me back and killed me instantly all lost health - they went down to like 24% but the difference was that they were using either Magnum Ammo (most of them) or Body Armor. Turns out i don't really need a better weapon or better aim - i need an upgrade i get at rank 15. My proposal to fix this would be to have < rank 15 servers that appear with a "Recommended" tag on them since the magnum ammo upgrade is so pivotal. Playing with >15 people which i do now (currently at rank 8) just encourages cheesy play - 40mm grenade spam with the ammo box to keep replenishing while farming kills on rush games is basically THE best way to contribute as you're leveling assault. As a medic you can keep your squad up, as an engineer you can focus on killing enemy armor and recon doesn't need magnum ammo to have a 1-shot kill weapon, the first sniper works. Now, i'm determined to keep leveling assault so rush games with nade spam is what i'll do - but it's seriously stupid. I should have the M16 by the time i hit 15 though so i guess it's just an initial grind you'll have to endure in any shooter these days. Sub 15 servers would help a lot though!

Progression towards new weaps/items IS WAY slower than MW2 which is quite scary given the amount of time a game takes in BC2. Sniper rifle cant actually kill anyone from long range? I put 3-4 shots into a guy, and he did not die. several times this happend. :/ I LOVE the atmosphere in BC2 multiplayer .. soo much better sound effects, enviorment, graphics etc. There are so many effects like snow/house/smoke debree that its sometimes hard to see wtf is going on.

I put 3-4 shots into a guy, and he did not die. several times this happend. :/ I LOVE the slow progression of the items / levels. Actually gives you something to work for. Although I just now finished unlocking all the classes . Now I just get to grind it out to level 50. As for the sniper class. I think recon is the most retarded class in this game. The are most viable running around like fucks using a shotgun. "Hi, I am a sniper class and can do just fine up close jumping around with a shotgun with 40 rounds killing half your team". (Ok, that was a little exaggerated) The motion sensor is an invaluable item as well. It can make a shitty team win games. Besides that, the sniping actually takes a lot of skill in this game. You have to learn how to work with the bullet drop, and head shots are pretty much the only one shot kill. (thank god). Mortar strike is pretty cool, but can get annoying on rush maps when they just spam the points with mortar strike until it dies. Another major problem I have had with this game is the GUSTAV. This little gem of a rocket launcher has been given the loving name of "noob tube", and for a VERY good reason. You can equip the two explosive specialties and the Gustav, and as long as you hit somewhere near an opponent, you will kill them. Pretty much everyone who plays demo man in TF2 is playing engie with the noob tube in this game. You can mash your head on your keyboard and probably come out with an even score. Outside of those few complaints, I love this game. I have put 50ish hours into it and have enjoyed every second of it. Probably one of the best squad based FPS out there.

Funny you mention that the noobtube is happend to be the same name as my real life name, maybe we're made for eachother? Seriously though, I didn't like the noobtubes in MW2 and I don't see myself running around with some stupid rocket launcher in this game either. I do however like how the sniper rifles feel in this game, what worries me is that i seem to be unable to kill people with it :/ Hopefully improve to get those headshots.
