I can uninstall GOM player itself, but I did like using it so why would I? And again, if I do, where the hell are those files stored? I can see a potential lawsuit if something like a torn asshole came up on the screen while some grandma was looking at tea recipes and died from a heart attack. | ||

This is how police manage to retrieve old data from computers. There are a few solutions. Firstly and the most primitive would be to keep your HD full. In tat case, old data will be completely overwritten by new data and hence no old files can be dug out. Secondly, there are softwares which writes gibberish on every unused bit of memory, removing old traces of files. Lastly, try defragmenting, it rearranges the cells of memory and should remove a sizable portion of old stuff. (Unsure about the last method) | ||

Had no idea something as seemingly simple as GOM player could read deleted file tracks. Will be using your advice! Is quick format sufficient to erase EVERY track? edit: Just curious, if i set GOM players DL folder on my friends computer to somewhere else where he potentially had some videos stored and then erased them, will I be able to play those deleted fragments using partially downloaded video the same way? lol | ||

Gom is one of the few players that tries really hard to show something when you try to watch an incomplete file. Defragging should lessen the chances of this happening. But it's really nothing to worry about, it's just a normal part of how computer storage works. And to your last question, it doesn't depend on where the files are located according to the file allocation table(which is what you see), but where and how the data is divided on the actual drive. | ||
