Update car problems and Balloons

Hey TL

So Wed. I set off to meet Psy and to go to the monthly balloon jam in Phx.I had some car problems that stuck me in Pacacho Peak some ho-dunk place with a towing company,gas station and Dairy Queen.For 3 hours, after having my wife and father in-law bring me the belt I needed I was on my way to Phx to late to meet Psy and late for the balloon jam.

The balloon jam was a blast I was able to hang out untill 12:30 or so with Ed Chee one of the worlds top balloon guys who happens to do decor and twisting.I bought one of his dvds and talked a bit about an apprenticeship.I hope things work out in that regard.Ed has many balloon creations as well as at least on type of twist he has come up with.

Friday and Saturday I worked at Joes Crab shack and then at Fuddruckers (fitting no?)Made some good money just off tips.(I love doing balloons for money)Had a blast as usual,and was even able to make a few things that Ive never done before.. go me!!

My display piece I ended up turning into a hat I wore most of the day/night at FuDDruckers.It was a sea scene including a fish,whale,crab,squid,jelly fish,seaweed,and coral..o and some bubbles.

Sunday I hung out at home and made balloon princess a balloon birthday cake hat and some helium filled balloons for a girls 6th birthday party.It was a blast and everyone loved the balloons.The party was 4:30pm-6pm and I made 100 bucks...ez-pz Have I mentioned how much I love this "job".
I was forgetful and did not get any pics of the birthday cake or princess i made though the mom will be emailing them to me I hope.I did get a shot or two of the helium balloons.

I hope to start taking some more pictures of the balloons I make hope you all will be interested in seeing them.Also this is a very lucrative job anyone interested let me know we could talk.

I can't remember if I've asked you this, but are balloons expensive? Sometimes I see you make these massive things with hundreds of balloons and it can't be a cheap hobby.

For basic 260 balloons (the ones most people are fimilar with for twisting) they are about 10-12 dollars a bag for 100 balloons.But Since I have a business account they are around 5.99 a bag.The decor balloons can be much more 20-30 dollars a bag of 100 even with my discount.But the profit vs expense is not too much when you compare those two factors together.Many of the speicalty print balloons i.e. alien heads,lady bug prints,etc are much more than an avreage bag of 260s.

A good site that has some of the best prices anywhere is www.balloonmerchant.com you can see what the prices are.My discounted prices locally are about the same after shipping so I try to support my local store.Those interested in starting out wont find better prices anywhere without a wholesaler account somewhere.

Please more pictures of balloons/ice sculptures or whatever you make whenever you can. I like them.

How long do these things keep their shapes, a few days?

You can prolong the life of a balloon sculpture by keeping it cool.A flower refrigerator will keep them for a few weeks.It really depends on heat,light,how much they are played with etc.But they usually last a few days looking decent then they start to shrink distort if left out on there own.
