Hey there guys, just about to get myself back into the post-exam catchup to be a decent starcraft 2 player after having to take such a long break.
For those unaware the reset is today and soon enough I might go see what I can do and I came across an interesting idea for the rest of beta and I'd be curious on your thoughts.
My idea is for the reset and for the rest of the beta to play random. This will mean I will end up in a crap league, but it does mean I can spend a lot more time practicing my Terran and Protoss play, and by retail have a stronger feel for their timing and how they would react.
I also am in a lot of practice squads so a majority of my time will be spent doing custom matches as Zerg so I will still get a lot of practice as Zerg, just not in ladder games.
Any thoughts on why this might be a bad idea are appreciated.

There have been past threads about whether to play one race or all three to get a feeling for timings etc.....
The argument boils down to + Show Spoiler +you have to divide your time between three races so you are less proficient with you main race but you get a bigger understanding of the other races so you are more proficient with your main race
but if you spend all your time playing one race you get really good at this race but you don't have an understanding of the other races so your not as good at your main race as you could be so to get better you have to divide your time between three races so you are less proficient with you main race but you get a bigger understanding of the other races so you are more proficient with your main race

imo, playing one race is fine as long as you study replays for timing. plus you get a good sense of timing from just playing the same matchups again and again.
The only problem is I have no clue what PvZ is like, o well;)

You're not a professional now and you will not be in the future. Play what is fun to you, you have literally nothing to gain and nothing to lose with either of these choices. Even if you did, the time you waste hemming and hawing over inconsequential decisions would cost your overall play far more than just doing one or the other and changing when its not working out.
