With the scope of TL, I figure we must have some golf fans around here excited about the Masters.
Definitely going to be an interesting tournament, some of the younger guns playing well, and of course seeing how Tiger does coming off of his episode/rehab.
Your thoughts/picks? I like AK and Padraig. AK is a streaky player and he looked pretty solid last week and is more than capable of making a bunch of birdies and has a complete short game. Padraig has been rounding back into form, and from my understanding some of the changes he was working on were specifically to develop a few more shots taylored to Augusta, plus he is as strong mentally as just about anyone else in the game.

I'm about as weak mentally as anyone in the game. I can't bring myself to watch golf because it frustrates me that I have so much difficulty with it and then they hit beautiful shots every time... not that they haven't worked at it or anything lol
Speaking of which I'm going to the driving range for the tenth time in the past couple of weeks to go get angry again lol

Oh, golf is such a maddening game, to learn and to play. Learning is such a bitch because so much stuff you instinctively do in other sports is dead wrong in golf, plus all the mechanics that go into. Not like basketball or any other sport in that is pretty much pick up a ball and shoot; there are some basics, but not like all the fundamentals in golf.
Of course playing you go out one day, and have all your shots on command and shoot 66; and then the next day you can barely find a green with a wedge and shoot 80.
So addictive though, nothing like those perfectly struck, shaped shots or shooting a great round.

My pick is Ernie Els. He was at the top of his game a few years ago and then he had a knee problem and soon after that he learned his son was autistic. He has to be mentally strong to be able to compete knowing the difficulties his son has to go through on a day to day basis. LETS GO BIG EASY!

O snap! I completly forgot about Els, and hes coming off of two wins in his last three starts. Definitely someone to pay attention to, and of course is a darn good putter and phenomonal bunker player.
The only thing I worry about is that its been a long time since hes been in the pressure cooker that is a major championship and has some scar tissue from losses to Tiger. That said I'd by no means be surprised to see him in contention or winning the thing come sunday.

Golf fan here! Shouldn't there be a thread in SaG for Masters as it's probably going to be the most watched thing since Obama's inaguration ever?
