For mice, I am still trying to find my perfect mouse. Been through 4 different ones in the last 6 months lol, still not satisfied with any one. Journey continues.

As for keyboard, I've never really had any issues with using a cheap ass $15 keyboard as long as the keys feel alright. this...I've using my g5 for almost 4 years and it still works like champ...and i use generic cheap keyboard...I don't think keyboard makes much difference in gaming.. at least for SC...I actually prefer cheap keyboard with tall keys since it is easy to identify which keys to push without looking at it and gives feeling that I'm actually pushing a button...

I don't think that the LMO is a good choice anymore with SC2 on the way. You most likely aren't going to play SC2 @ 640x480, and the LMO has such low dpi that it isn't very useful for higher resolutions. At least I personally wouldn't use my LMO for anything higher than 640x480.

The other keyboards I was looking at during the time of my purchase were the saiteks. The older models are around 40 with the newer ones reaching about 70 or so. Saitek Keyboards Model is decent and overall keyboard layout is simple. As for mice looking for a cheap razer seems like the way to go. Salmosa is pretty cheap and decent. maybe look around woot.com for any special deals they have. Past deal sold salmosa at 14 bucks!

I hear you man, it's ridiculous to be spending so much on things that offer no real additional benefit. I mean, this is what I used to use but really that was just wasteful fancy. There's no reason anyone should use anything but this: Sure, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it gets the job done (eventually).

Next step up would be a razer krait or salmosa Keyboard I use a dell multimedia keyboard, but if you get a wireless keyboard i'd wait for the logitech dinovo notebook edition to go on sale.
