I've only made a few videos in my life, most having to do with SC (check my profile if you're interested). But most of the time, I hear a song, then pair video to it, rather than the other way around. I feel this gives the song/vid combo far more resonance than making the video first.
Thus, when I first saw the Proleague 2006 ending music video, made by the Koreans and using the song "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling, I felt it was a very good vid. But I don't think the song captured the spirit of the video. I always wanted footage like they had there, but I never had the time to assemble the clips. So I just took a very popular song ("Wake Up" by Arcade Fire) that's used constantly in commercials since the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are, and dubbed over the video (with just a slight timing tweak).
Yes, the cuts will largely be disjointed and sloppy since I didn't change anything about the original video, but I think the music fits much better (though as someone said, this song probably goes with anything). If you haven't seen it before, the video also features a lot of current aces as new up and comers. Give it a watch!
Here's my remixed version and the original video for comparison.

the arcade fire song sounds a lot more epic/dramatic, good fit

Nice video, some of the syncing is really well done (especially the fireworks lining up with the hits in the song) and the feel goes really well
Still, it really bothers me how much Wake Up and other Arcade Fire songs are used in commercials all of a sudden >_>

Damn it's amazing how much more popular that song just got recently considering Funeral was released 6 years ago. They're a great band so I guess they were bound to get commercialized eventually.
Really enjoyed the video - some of my favorite music + SC = win in my book.
Edit: you're right, the original music really doesn't seem to fit.

Remix fits better imo
That said, Wake Up goes with everything

I miss the old days... and The old times of samsung with his amazing 2vs2 team T_T

Fantastic
edit: LOL just watched the original. Such a bad choice for song.

I actually like the original better, it has a much more nostalgic mood.

And a Super Bowl spot. After yesterday if mainstream U.S. culture didn't know about them they do now. Great thing is all the money they made from licensing it went to support relief efforts in Haiti.
