I must say that I am amazed by this years WCG in China. For the first time we had reliable streams covering many games of SC. Aslo the vids from the games were uploaded super fast on youtube.
The stage was amazing and the crowds were huge. Although there were less players for SC, I think that the players were much more equal in skill (not counting the koreans) and I am pretty sure that when the reps are relased we`ll see many good games.
Dissapintments for me (besides the lack of bulgarian representitive T_T) were Idra, who again fails to prove what exactly he is doing in Korea and Tasteless, who if a person who have never watched Starcraft sees his commentary will think that there are only two things in SC : timing attacks and panda bear guys.
Overall I think this was the best WCG in terms of coverage and one of the best in terms of competitive level.

I bet you'll get flamed for bashing on them, but you sound like you're coming from a position that is well thought through so I don't mind it at all.
Did you actually go to it?

I know I definitely loved paying attention to it. PJ was a beast, and when everyone heard he was 1-1 with Stork, even with no way to watch it (besides false alerts from 8000 post members tt) it was still so exciting to follow. As you said the crowds were huge, I remember during PJ's games, Tasteless kept mentioning how loud it was in there. I'm pretty sure in PJ vs. Bisu after PJ deflected Bisu's first attack it had to be REALLY loud, man I would have loved to be there.
Kolll's 2-0 over Idra was also really big. Not to mention, the finals were AMAZING, especially game two on Colosseum.
I love watching White-Ra play and I watch his replays all the time just cause I love his style, and I was really sad that he didn't make it to the tournament stage. However, A2 taking a game off of Jaedong is also HUGE. Let's not forget that it's Jaedong's first ZvT loss on Tau Cross in any event.. and it comes to a Russian foreigner.. not bad.
Yeah, this tournament was definitely exciting. It's always awesome to see the foreigner community cheering each other on (sort of like what we saw in IEF when White-Ra beat Boxer and walked off the stage, receiving high fives from everyone).

I hope nobody minds the spoilers
Yes, foreginers beating koreans is always a huge deal, especially this year when the koreans were absolutely s-class. Respect for Advocate winning JD in a straight up game. Cant wait to see the replay.

Unfair I think Tasteless is a really nice guy and a good commentator. Especially for noobs because he acctually explains what happens in, usually, a very simple way.. In that respect I think he is really professional. If you compare him to Artosis, I think that he reaches out better to a new audience (whlie Artosis gives more in-depth analysis).

yeah, I guess you are right. Its just a matter of personal preference.

I just noticed that it's constant analysis rather than painting an exciting story like Korean commentators do. Yeah, they analyze as well, but they use it to create tension and anticipation rather than trying to sound profound 100% the time. Plus, they scream 10x more :D

I agree, I so enjoyed the quality and the Starcraft friendly China, streaming so many games aswell! This made the whole viewing experience so much better!

I found the panda bear references to be a bit much as well, but overall thought the coverage and match quality was very good. The best for a WCG event - by far. The finals games were awesome.
