I'm sitting in the airport, its 2300, and im waiting on my 0100 flight. Been here since yesterday because my flight was delayed 24 hours(got a nice free hotel and food out of it though)!
So the time has finally come for me to head off to become suddenly and forcefully immersed into this mysterious culture and country they call japan.
It wasn't my choice(I picked Virginia/Washington), but I am looking forward to it at the same time. I think it will be a useful experience, and something that I will not regret.
If anyone has any experience or useful advice they wish to impart I am a sponge. What I know about Japan came in a standard issue 6 page flyer that consisted of almost all donts.
Looking forward to it, and I cant wait to hop off the plan on the other side!
Why are you going there? work, studying, 3 year vacation?
I don't know where in Japan you're going so it's hard to give you pointers, if you end up in a place like Kochi you'll be pretty much the only foreigner there which can be both fun and frustrating, if you go to a place like Tokyo or Osaka you shouldn't have any troubles fitting in.
I might be moving to Osaka in a couple of weeks, if you're close we should definitely have some kind of "SC meet" with the TL people in Japan
