EAT LOTS OF MCDONALDS! Haha, we specified working out to gain weight since neither of us want to be unhealthily gaining weight.

also, squat and work out th biggest muscles in your body, like your quads and chest. its about weight gain, not so much a sexy body lol. You don't want to go toooooo low, like in the 1-5 rep range, because a large part of that training works your nervous system and, while you'll still gain mass, you're mostly going to increase your strength. 6-12 is generally accepted, most bodybuilders, who are all about gaining mass, do 10-12 reps from what I've read. A valid point is raised that I forgot to mention: compound lifts. Don't do fucking bicep curls or calf raises. Squat, Deadlift, Bench Press, Chin-up/Pull-up, Military Press...these all target multiple muscle groups and promote muuuch quicker mass gain. You can look them up online if you're unsure of proper technique. Goodluck, and post naked pictures of your body! Haha we'll see, we'll see. I'll have to get my hands on my roommate's camera.
Btw, thanks to everyone who posted helpful replies. I definitely have to change my diet and start working out hard.

1 gallon of milk a day? gg heart

That is all you need.
Do it. I didn't check my weight while doing this while I was still at university, but when I finally got around to checking my weight, I found that I had gained 20 pounds, probably all/mostly muscle, since I didn't expand my gut size by a factor of 10000. I didn't even manage to consistently finish a gallon/day.
It's probably worth mentioning that spoons of peanut butter might be good to down with the milk, since a gallon of milk a day means drinking upwards of 16 oz of milk at a time (you might just get sick of it.)
Douse your meats in a bit of olive oil. White rice is delicious. Eat 16 oz of oatmeal with like 10000 eggs for breakfast.
With the gallon of milk a day, you may not even need to buy the protein powder, but if you choose to do so, you probably only need enough for pre/post workout shake, but nothing more.

anything higher than 1 percent milk in large doses destroys my insides.
i have difficulty drinking half a gallon of skim milk on workout days -- so i'm just giving up on that.

I have yet to meet any other male that can beat my 17.0 BMI (6 ft, 125 lbs).

Lactase is cheap. I have some trouble drinking over a half-gallon a day even with mass lactase-supplementation, just because it's JUST A LOT OF MILK, but the lactose digestion will not be an issue at all if you supplement with this (no more gas/bloating/death.)

Damn. I'm 6 ft and 135 and I'm fucking skinny as hell. I used to be around 125 though, before I joined the swim team in high school.

Oh, and also, get your metabolism roaring. Try to eat every 1.5 hours or 3 hours a day, and each meal needs protein. You want lunch to be your heaviest meal, and try not to eat carbs or dairy after 1pm.

You don't want to get jiggly, now do you?
You'll be super-sexy with rippling muscles and the body will use the protein better. I think.

there is no reason, i've never even heard that claim before.
if your destroying yourself in the gym everyday, you can't just stock up on stuff in the morning for that.
i eat food all the way until 3 in the morning before I go to bed. no problems here.

This is very specific and individualized advice. This type of thing probably only applies to specific people.
There's no reason why carbs at a certain time would be better or worse than carbs at another time.
Same goes for dairy. Why at some times but not others? If you're an ectomorph who has to work verrry hard to gain a lot of weight, whole milk throughout the day isn't going to make you fat. Getting fat is a gradual process, just like getting lean/muscular. If you're getting fat, adjust your diet.
Dairy products (like whole milk) contain both carbs and fat. Some people prefer not to have both in the same meal, but some people are so underweight/have such high metabolisms, that it doesn't matter for the first few months (or even years) of training. I'm still chugging this stuff. o_O
