OK. Now we have established that Queens are kinda sorta OP in that they can add a bunch of larvae which can then be used to create all these army rushes, which people are struggling to counter, but will somehow be countered eventually.
But I don't know you you can fix this aspect of the zerg gameplay.
Previously, if you saw three eggs morph at the same time, you can be really sure that all three are the same type of units. So, scouting the zerg was kinda easy for toss and terrans.
Now, somebody like jaedong can go dzhzhdomm and you'll have to scout every single morphing egg to figure out what's cooking. And with the way the Queen protects her stuff, scouting becomes just that much more difficult. I guess terrans will have to practices speed-scouting as much as they practice avoiding the rush, if not more. Xel-Naga watch towers may help. But I am not sure by how much.
Your thoughts?

What would jesus's dick do?

What would Jae Dong do? There are dicks in the world that more powerful than Jesus'. My apologies to devout christians. Just a JD fanboy here.

Their probably just going to either change the amount of larvae injected or increase the mana cost of the ability. Probably lower the amount of larvae injected because if they raise the mana required it will lower macro/multitasking of SC2zerg even more.

True, but the problem I describe will be just as bad no matter what the number of larvae the queen produces. Previously, if your scout sees three simultaneous larvae (4 if lair) morphing into eggs, the scout only needs to look at one of them to know what's coming and prepare accordingly. Now, the scout has to look at all three of the eggs, even if they morph simultaneously. It used to be that scouting zerg was easy. You only looked at the hatchery to figure out what units are coming your way. Now it's not so simple anymore.

Um, since when can you scout zerg eggs by 'looking at them'. Don't you need to wait for them to hatch, which sort of makes this a moot point because you can tell by tech + time spent in egg. Assuming your scout survives at all.

The only difference now comes from the fact that the eggs cannot be hatched at the exact same time. Someone with good mechanics would not give any visible sign as to whether he was make a single unit type or not. As a previous poster said, these things have to be guessed using timing and the presence of tech buildings.

be funny some other way.
My opinion is weak because I haven't played but I believe inserting "artificial" mechanics is ludicrous. Let the skill margin increase not by these mechanics but by split army control, scouting, etc. Things that naturally come with a strategy game not something pasted on top.

good point, but i feel like any random 3v3 bgher will be able to play sc2 on a very high level without these extra things because of unlimited selection, smarter AI, auto-mining, and MBS.

Well then maybe SC2 has to be scaled to larger armies with such easy use. Srsly.

Actually, I feel the queen fits into the game very naturally. More stuff to do is always good for raising the skill ceiling. What feels artificial is the terran and protoss macro mechanics.

Yeah thats something i was too lazy to mention. The queen mechanic seems elegant but its imba for now if the reports are accurate.

If he gets a fast queen, you can't scout effective till whatever the sc2 = of scan, I don't think that's the parts thats inherently OP; thats true in sc when you get speed or a sunken. I think the larva ability just has to nerfed with a longer cd and less larva

Scout zerg was never easy, even in Brood War.

Self-pwned!!!!
All these days of watching and not playing much of BW made me lose sight of some fundamental concepts.

Note that I pointed out that queen ability way back in fucking February and no one listened? Now some guy makes an article on it and everyone realizes it?

couple reasons for this, no one reads the trash heap that is the sc2 forums, 'that guy' was hot_bid and collectively the rest of the TL staff, The post was a well organized thread that was stickied and posted to the front page.
