So recently my standard monitor broke and now I'm using one of those old bulky ones until I get a new one.. it doesn't even fit on my desk properly so playing anything fast paced like StarCraft 1v1 is a chore..
Thus I'm asking the people of TL to recommend some fun games that are enjoyable in SP!
I can't really give a list of things I like/don't like except that I really hate turn-based stuff, and I get bored of high graphic FPS games like Bioshock etc instantly.
Atm I'm just playing Battlezone 2 (so good) and random SC ums :/

Braid, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Portal
haven't played it yet but I'm interested in And Yet It Moves

You should try world of goo if you haven't played that.

wait so you had an LCD monitor (Which is inferior for gaming) and switched to your old CRT and are complaining? wtf?
|
Um, what? Yeah ripping part of my sentence out of its context and replying to it is quite stupid, don't you think?
I've played World of Goo lol, I kinda forgot about it but it was pretty good :p

Bitching about LCD is soooo 2003.

Dx. ( FPS / Rpg / infiltration hybrid, really old GFX with the UT99 engine but the gameplay and scenario are still awesome ).
Baldur 1/2 ( king of 3d iso rpgs )
Torment. ( 3d iso rpg with the best dialogs and the weirdest scenario and universe ).
<3 old games.
edit: Dx = Deus EX 1 :p

Half-Life, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Guitar Hero

Civilization 4 is really good, even if it is turn-based.
Half Life 2 series are also great.
I know you said there are things about both these two games that you dislike, but trust me these games are amazing

But you gotta love ASCII.

If you haven't play plants vs zombies, that can easily eat hours of your life if you need it to.

No, you're wrong, LCD hate is justified, there are only a few decent ones out on the market now.
Low refresh rate = bad.
Some of the new lcd's go to 120 though, which is great. But expensive.

<3 old games. What's an 'iso rpg'? Isometric 3D ( it is like an avanced version of 2d GFX that makes the characters look better )

lol nvm just read your OP and you specifically said you don't like Bioshock! Hard for me to understand but ok. I generally am not a FPS person at all but I really love that game for some reason.

<3 old games. Second all of these, except I'm going to respectfully disagree about your description of BG1/2. Torment is hands down the best isometric RPG ever made (admittedly, it's more heavy on storytelling and character development, whereas BG1/2 are more well-rounded as far as gameplay goes).

To release stress, I played this ultimate micro map, the one where you choose a bunch of different units and just fight and stuff. I muta microed for about 20 minutes then just had huge huge pvz battles like mass archons vs ultra/ling for another 20 minutes. That was a good 42 minutes spent having some quality fun
