Haha. This is what I do too. But I usually like vsing Semi pro gamers - pro gamers simply for the fact to play better.

I don't avoid Koreans or any other players better than myself, because I want to improve! I've been playing 1v1 less than a month, so I have alot of shit to learn. Also, why do people care about records? Personally, I don't give a fuck about my stats, as long as I'm learning and having fun, it's all good. I went 5-6, after losing 4 straight.

I mean, unless you are getting paid to reach a certain rank (this happens in some clans, I guess) what is the meaning of it? At that point you are just doing it to make yourself feel better, not to improve your game. There is a difference between a challenging game and a game where your opponent just has superior mechanics that no matter what they do they will still win.

It's not the rating loss that's the issue, it's the difference of playing a fair game of starcraft, and getting owned so hard without being able to do ANYTHING because the other player has an apm 200 higher than yourself, superior mechanics and tight pro buildorders. I for one can't stand playing against players who are so much better than me, and I'm getting the impression that most ppl at my rank (D+ or so) feel the same -.-. I'd really like to play, but guess I'll just keep it at playing friends for the next week or two -.-.

But I really play to have fun. I do not have fun getting assraped by B's, and to be honest, I don't think I learn anything by getting steamrolled. Imo, you'll only learn if you actually have a chance of winning (even though this chance can be little, like a D+ playing against a C). Else it's like watching a live replay of yourself getting owned. This is clearly subjective, but that's how I see it.

I'd rather play (maybe I didn't add this in, but I meant 'reasonable' as in 'people who are truly equally-skilled' ) a game where it goes back and forth, and I end up losing and then finding out my mistakes bit by bit and improve from there. I wouldn't want to face some A+ smurf and get thrashed without knowing what just happened ~_~

Like, you play some A+ Korean, and get raped. And then you go look at the replay to see what he did right/you did wrong. Are you expected to go, "Well, his macro is twice as good as mine, so he rolled over me. I guess I need to improve my macro? I never knew this ever." after watching the replay? Maybe if they did a strategic play you haven't played against before, or are uncomfortable playing against, I can see how it helps, but in alot of cases it just seems like the reason you lost would be common sense. "Scout for proxies next time" or "improve macro".
