Basicly if you have an healthy and vigorous immune system you are even more fucked.
lol
About the 1918 flu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu
The unusually severe disease killed between 2 and 20% of those infected, as opposed to the more usual flu epidemic mortality rate of 0.1%. Another unusual feature of this pandemic was that it mostly killed young adults, with 99% of pandemic influenza deaths occurring in people under 65, and more than half in young adults 20 to 40 years old

I don't think that is the case with the swine flu.

This epidemic is very very minor at this point. But news is slow and news stations just love covering this kind of crap.
lol

If you get sick by a virus strain(lets say swine flu) and you survive(your body fought it off), are you then immune to getting sick by the exact same virus strain again? Like sort of your body has made its own vaccine for the virus now? That's actually how (most) vaccines work. You get inoculated by weakened/dead pathogens, which the body can fight without (too much) adverse effects so your immune systems remembers how to fight it (either all your life or for some period of time, in the latter case you need reminder shots every x years).

I agree, if the media didn't blow it out of proportion, it'd probably spread like wildfire since people would be totally unaware of what is happening.

Now the disease has spread to like 20 states out of 31 that Mexico has, 7 more deaths from yesterday noon to today morning in Mexico City, more cases are being confirmed as I type this...
If this shit continues we mexicans wont know what to do, classes are suspended, malls are being closed etc etc etc.
Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) and most antivirals are scarce and panic is beginning to take over most people at least in Guadalajara...

yeah, this must be a pretty big deal indeed, as they've already closed one of the biggest and most important economic events in mexico, the national fair of san marcos :s.
I think the biggest problem is people not working imo, more than the infected / death ratio.
anyways, it sucks because we cant do shit and its pretty boring :0
