I play protoss and everytime I fight zerg, they just always take the whole map and there's nothing I can do about it.
This particular zerg I played today wasn't even that good. I can't count how many times I killed his army but he just keeps making more. It's so frustrating!
Things I noticed:
-He had higher apm (but apm means nothing anyways) -I could have had better macro (but I had to micro)

why not go for the zeal/archon timing push thats become so popular in the proleagues?

Keep scouting with patrol-zealots, observers and such and just keep macroing over and over again
Also if you win a battle go after any expansions and take expansions of your own too

Sorry to disillusion you, but when your opponent has over three times your apm and he's not holding down a hotkey or something just as stupid, it does matter.
Scout more, play faster, play more often so you can "feel" when it's time for the zerg to take another expansion. Then prevent expansions with your units. Killing zerg expansions is a lot easier if you get to them before they're up and running. Scout like a madman.

Well, you opened 2gate vs. the zerg's 12hatch, and so you started off at a disadvantage, especially since you two were cross positioned. You further solidified your disadvantage by not inflicting any sort of damage to the zerg. Just 5 minutes into the game you were quite behind, and there hasn't even been any sort of combat. It just makes no sense for a protoss to 2gate and just let his zealots sit around doing nothing. If you 2gate, you have to press into the zerg. A decent zerg will repel a 2gate with a 12hatch, but you can gain an advantage or just outright kill the zerg if he micros poorly or makes some bad decisions.
Why did you build cannons where you did at the nat? The placement makes NO sense.
I'm just not going to finish watching the replay. Besides the simple and easy answer and excuse of "need to macro better", you need to understand opening builds, which you don't. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that you already lost the game 4 minutes in.

Throw your army at his expansions as they go up. Harrass the zerg's econ Macro and just try and match expos.
If you kill a z's army, you can take an expo or kill one of theirs (Usually).

mass scouts after he has 3 bases

Don't let him have it. If ever he gets them, destroy it...just place obs all over the place.

If you see him taking map dominance add more gateways and go for a huge push moving from expansion to expansion. Another good build is the Sair/DT build because it is designed to shut down expansions.

^^^^^^ THIS
The zerg took the map because you didn't give yourself the tools to stop him
