Okay, here's the fourth version of the map after I spent another hour and half editing little quirks.
I know most of you guys are highly against "creative" maps and would rather have a perfectly balanced plain boring standard map rather than entertain new ideas and opportunities for non-macro based games. Thanks to those who support me even though my map has many many flaws.

Original OP: + Show Spoiler +I casually made a couple maps a while back but I never got around to finishing any of them...OKAY, I'm a complete noob map maker and I have no idea what the eff I'm doing! Anyways, I was just looking at JMave's blog and I thought I'd give it a shot again. I did this from scratch using SCMDraft and I originally intended to make a serious map (4 player medusa-type) but then I remembered I had no idea what I'm doing and so I just experimented a little. I haven't touched a map editing program in over a year so be nice please >_< Note: The mineral/gas distances are a bit wonky on purpose... edit: forgot start locations lol edit2: thanks for the 1 star

Looks like 4 pool heaven while such a short rush distance. Funny tho.
(Zerg heaven in general, very safe 3 gas.)
Edit: Some more thought on the map: Looks as though the small 4 min patches in the main could help favor zerg more since they naturally are going to make more hatcheries, seems like it would be pretty awkward for T/P to take that base. I guess T/P would expand into the Loki II style back expo first? Makes sense.
Main reason it could favor zerg is the very small number of mins in the 'front door' 1gas/2min thing. Imo it's basically a gas only expo which definitely favors zerg.
On the other hand, how has the map testing been going? Maybe the gas heavy expos will even out will zerg not being able to flank as well.

the mineral locations are farther away than on regular maps, a 4 pool would probably have the timing of a 6 pool i think
but yeah, i didn't really put much thought into this, made it in under an hour >_<

This looks pretty good! A mix of ride of valkeryie, blitz and andromeda (the easy third base type of deal)

haha, thanks for all the positive comments i didn't expect such warm replies. i was thinking of just giving up on map making again but I think I'll continue to give it a shot.
In the meantime, I better study map mechanics more, rather than throwing a jumble of seemingly cool ideas together, lol.
