Mother 3 fan translation has just been completed! Man Earthbound (Mother 2) brings back lots of memories. I think it was the first RPG that I ever beat. Never had the patience to beat RPG's when I was 10 =p. But man! Such a fun game. Too bad the sequel never made it to North American shelves. I can't wait to play this, but I have a midterm on monday and two labs due this coming week...sigh T.T  | ||

Earthbound is a must fucking play (not necessarily to play this, just in general). Visual Boy Advance is the best GBA emulator (used, of course, to play games you already own). And like FakeSteve said, Mother 3 rom is REALLY easy to find. PLAY EARTHBOUND (ZSNES is the best SNES emulator, and earthbound rom should be just as easy to find). | ||

the oddball humor that made Earthbound so endearing is very much present in this game so far, I've been grinning like an idiot the entire time I've been playing this game its like a snes rpg i never knew existed, what a great day. imagine discovering Secret of Mana eight years after you put down your snes controller for the last time (my power cord busted -_-) | ||

I've just started Chapter 4. So far this game is really living up to Earthbound. Of course nothing can ever fully recreate the magic, but this game comes close. Btw, the translation is really impressive/proffesional. | ||

And yeah, the translator is apparently a professional translator for anime who wanted to do this as a side project/hobby. My brother's playing it right now and he says it's really fun. sigh...back to studying T.T | ||

But the thing about the Mother games is that it is totally a hit or miss series. Either you're fucking in LOVE with this game, or you don't like it. For me, Earthbound has been one of my favorite game since I was a kid so I enjoyed it like a motherfucker. Only thing I had issues with this game was that the difficulty curve from Mother 2 -> Mother 3 is like running into a brick wall. Mother 2 (earthbound) was a pretty easy going game so I thought Mother 3 would be similar, but damn was I wrong. I did miss alot of features Earthbound had that Mother 3 didn't (like the pizza guy, storage delivery man, dad/mom/sister calling you). However, I still enjoyed it. | ||
