One bad experience with UPS and you are going to severely limit your options in the future? I'd understand if they were just sucking generally, but this is a weakness on their part that will no longer apply to you. From now on you won't be changing your address at the last minute/hour/day.

Not really UPSs fault imo. It's not Jibba's 'fault' if he gave them notice, per say, but it's just like... you should avoid putting them in a spot where they have to make changes at the last minute. A disaster waiting to happen.

I always went w/ FedEx. Haven't had the need for a long time, but last time I did they were far cheaper. They always worked well for me.

Amazon makes money, I get my stuff, UPS loses money.

UPS is good. amazon... sigh, it has its ups and downs. USPS suck at delivering shit but theyre relatively priced.

I called them a day and a half earlier and tried to get it changed then, and UPS told me I couldn't request a change until it had already reached the local delivery center and they couldn't even leave a note for it. The entire process was asanine. So then I call 8AM the next morning once it made it to the local center and I told them what needed to be done, and then 6 hours later they dropped it off. You can't even cite security concerns because there's nothing in place to stop fake identities.
And no, this isn't the first time UPS has misdelivered. It's become pretty regular that they'll say "address doesn't exist" when I ship to my sister in NYC. USPS seems to find it though.

well the drivers and the trucks leave the facility at 8:30 roughly so calling them at 8 doesn't help much though. Poor customer service on their parts I suppose.

Yeah, and I mean in the year 2008 there's no way for the UPS center to know what their drivers are doing or communicate with them, right?
Look, it's not like they're sending drivers out with a paper list to deliver things. The reason they're able to tell you the EXACT time a package has been delivered is because there's a constant connection between the drivers and the station's computer system. Drivers are given handheld computers specifically for that reason. My guess is the person at the tracking station (who even called me to confirm) didn't do her job and add the note.

Actually youd be surprised, drivers dont usually know what goes in their truck unless theyve been told. We move things back and forth before they leave everyday depending on the volume of each truck.
