How about deliver your package to the wrong address after you've spent an hour on the phone with them trying to get them to correct the shipping information.

Fuck UPS, I'm sticking with FedEx from now on.

Right now there's a $90 package sitting outside my old home with no one to pick it up because apparently it takes 6+ hours for new information to transmit through this craaaaaaaaaaazy new internets.

Thankfully Amazon is the greatest company ever and is overnighting a new order.

One bad experience with UPS and you are going to severely limit your options in the future? I'd understand if they were just sucking generally, but this is a weakness on their part that will no longer apply to you. From now on you won't be changing your address at the last minute/hour/day.

I always went w/ FedEx. Haven't had the need for a long time, but last time I did they were far cheaper. They always worked well for me.

Actually I asked and Amazon said they'd charge the lost package to UPS. So it's a win either way.

Amazon makes money, I get my stuff, UPS loses money.

You can't even cite security concerns because there's nothing in place to stop fake identities.

And no, this isn't the first time UPS has misdelivered. It's become pretty regular that they'll say "address doesn't exist" when I ship to my sister in NYC. USPS seems to find it though.

well the drivers and the trucks leave the facility at 8:30 roughly so calling them at 8 doesn't help much though. Poor customer service on their parts I suppose.

Yeah, and I mean in the year 2008 there's no way for the UPS center to know what their drivers are doing or communicate with them, right?

Look, it's not like they're sending drivers out with a paper list to deliver things. The reason they're able to tell you the EXACT time a package has been delivered is because there's a constant connection between the drivers and the station's computer system. Drivers are given handheld computers specifically for that reason. My guess is the person at the tracking station (who even called me to confirm) didn't do her job and add the note.

Actually youd be surprised, drivers dont usually know what goes in their truck unless theyve been told. We move things back and forth before they leave everyday depending on the volume of each truck.

hm I never lost anything, and I have used USPS, FedEX, UPS, DHL and all of my packages always show up. I order things like every week too.

I've never had an issue with UPS, because I don't throw a wrench into the mix at the last second. The sheer volume of stuff they handle daily would make it hard to accommodate every person who can't get their own shipping info right. Honestly, uppity demanding 'customers' who expect others to take responsibility for their own fuck ups annoy the hell out of me.

36 hours isn't last second and if they're not capable of doing it, they shouldn't be listing it as one of their strengths and offering the service.

I was told over and over on the first call to them that the only two ways to reroute it is after the first delivery and no one is there to confirm, or by putting it through at the local center. So I followed #2 and they still dropped off the package without anyone there to confirm.

Shit happens, and obviously I should've paid more attention on Amazon and confirmed the shipping address instead of the billing address, but part of the reason you pay for premium service is so that they'll work around your errors. And if another company is able to get that done for you, then why keep using the old one?

If you plan on continuing to mess up the address, then it's perfectly understandable why you'd avoid the company that is bad about making changes after the fact. Otherwise I've found UPS to be as reliable as the other companies.
