We at The No-Frauds Club are proud to announce that the dates for Cosmonarchy's biggest tournament have been locked in, and our prize pool has reached a whopping 1,500 USD thanks to our awesome community!
Cosmonarchy is a massive Starcraft 1 conversion that changes a lot about the base game, aiming for slightly longer games, noticeably larger armies, and much more compositional diversity, with an average of 50 units per race! You can check out some recent videos on my (Pr0nogo) youtube channel if you wanna see how the game plays out compared to SC1.
About the tournament: the action kicks off with a high-stakes qualifier - the Gauntlet Stage - in late October. This phase is open to anyone! There are some meaty names waiting to sign up for this, including HitEmUp a.k.a. Leviathan, who is fresh off a recent tournament win. You can watch that last tournament here on youtube!
The Gauntlet Stage now boasts a prize pool, with each win in Gauntlet A giving $10 in the upper bracket and $5 in the lower bracket. The secondary qualifier, Gauntlet B, will give $5 for wins in the upper bracket. This is an effort to make the first qualifier as competitive as possible!
Once the qualifiers conclude, we move on to the Battlements Stage in mid-November! The groups will be drawn well beforehand to give competitors ample time to prepare, and all the action takes place over a mere two days. Depending on Gauntlet Stage signups, up to 6 groups of play will be carried out over that weekend, with one player in each being denied playoffs berth! You'll get $20 for first place in your group, and $10 for second place, with last place going home empty-handed.
The Throneroom Stage is where the magic happens, and it'll be played out over the course of a few weeks. This playoffs-style bracket will test the adaptability and strategic depth of our competitors by pitting them against one another in longer series, with the grand finals culminating in a best of 7!
