Ok thanks! Then i take my Hungary prediction back and yeah the actually have something to play for! Especially as since Croatia will prolly not have more than 2 points. So only 5 other groups

Literally everyone else in our lineup is better and more energetic right now. Hell I wanna see some Maxi Beier! Gundogan finding his groove. Really glad to see. Neuer ... meh. So wonky. I'm biting my nails everytime someone comes close to our goal expecting Neuer to fail miserably. Ter Stegen please! Also Havertz... wouldn't mind someone else for the starting 11. He wasn't bad per se, but he wasn't good either. I feel it would take injury to see Neuer out at this stage, perhaps somebody actually has an example but goalkeeper is that one position you don’t really change once you settle on your guy. It’s a pity as I really think ter Stegen deserves it on merit and Manuel is trading off his past glories a bit. I’d love to get to a game, alas no, but the various journalists on podcasts I’m on who are actually in-person seem to be rating Havertz a lot higher than those who watched on TV. I can only assume that his movement/pressing is something that’s more apparent when you’re free to watch the pitch rather than what the director is showing, and in theory having a rather technical player who’s reasonably big and quick too should work as a kind of pivot point. What are Germany’s other forwards outside of Fulkrug like? I’m not super familiar with them. Are any of them similar in attributes to Timo Werner because I do feel having someone like that would be a useful option. You’ve got the arty farty false 9 technician, a battering ram of an old school number 9 in Fulkrug, maybe a pace merchant to chase balls behind would come in handy P.S. if you have added ‘wonky’ to your vernacular by virtue of me overrusing it all the time on here I am honoured! Yeah for me Ter Stegen > Neuer. Also besides Füllkrug, they have Undav who was performing well for Stuttgard. Fantasy is mostly luck tbh, since you cant really tell how good/bad someone will perform individually. Germany played well but Havertz didnt score so meh. Not to want the entire thing to be rewritten to benefit me, but it strikes me as weird that in an era with more stats and more interest in various metrics than ever, that there isn’t a fantasy game that kinda leans more on them. Any one I’ve ever played is so biased on goals/assists, or how your team do. Ngolo Kante could cover 57 kilometres in a game and make 29 tackles and he’ll still score worse than a striker who had a terrible game but scored one goal! If I wasn’t so lazy and lacking the model on how to actually score it I’d love to whack something a bit more reasonable out
Kante had 9 points in MD1 without a goal or assist, a 1 goal striker with 60+ minutes gets 6
Since they added those ball recovered points imho it really changed... The previous iterations e.g. only aggressive wingbacks and offensive midfielders mattered... This now really changed. A player like Kante who gets reliable 4-6 points is imho quite valuable.

Edit: Hojberg very lucky to escape here without the VAR even having a look.

Just turned in, denmark equalizing and commentators said england are playing poorly, what the hell happened?
|
my fantasy team hates this gial.. but damn, that was a pretty one!
|
Pickford mad at his team mates at every chance denmark has is frustrating.
|
hmmm
I would really love some stats, but going just from feeling so far: - there are way more long shot goals - there are barely any pen goals - goals from set pieces are down too - there are fewer goalie mistakes leading to goals - there are more intercepted terrible passes backwards/through the box etc leading to goals
|
lol... subbing all 3 offensive players at once :D Thats hillarious
|
Why in the world is Saka being subbed out ? He was England's shining spot on the wing.
|
Refs in this game are on par with the worst in the whole tournament. Why is the ref quality so bad?
|
Worst game of the tournament despite two goals, neither denmark or england deserved a point tbh. Denmark way better than a tournament favorite, germany would eat any of this teams for breakfast!

I dont mind that from England, yes was poor performance again really, yes Southgate again playing people out of position causing our problems, however, you can't argue with 4 points from 2 games and 99% through to next round, you dont win anything in the group games.
Also was signs that Southgate is understanding playing Trent as a fooking 8 aint working and we might be able to play people in there positions going forward!!
And, outside of Denmark shooting from 40 yards all match, they didn't really create anything, so not like we were being opened up for fun etc. There goal was nuts and the guy will never do that again in his lifetime, even in his celebration he was shocked.

England played with no intensity at all this game. Denmark came in with all the energy and took over the midfield.
Agree with stopping this Trent at midfield experiment. Put him back at RB where he can shine and command the offense from there. Please also play Gordon or something who's a true LW to start the game rather than Kane, Foden, and Bellingham all operating so close together with 0 runners in behind.

Should be Eze or Palmer ahead of Gordon, but yeah thats what i would do. Player Walker at left back if you have to play back 4, if not play the back 3 this squad screaming out for with Trent at wingback.

So my faith in phoden was again missplaced?

Slow and steady wins the race (often anyway)
I think best case scenario England are just lacking intensity and doing just enough to get through these games and will step it up a bit.
Worst case the balance isn’t there and players are knackered and lacking form.
I mean last time out I wasn’t super impressed in groups but they really did turn it up a notch by the Germany match
