I am generally clueless after putting one near the natural and the second one near the third. I would really love to know where it is the best way to scout incoming attacks and/or base scout.

All I can do is give a couple general advices: ZvP and ZvT: You want one or maximum two ovi on their side. One usually at the natural HG, and the second one ready to go in for in-base scout. The rest is usually done with well placed lings (3rd, 4th, land exit and air exits of his base). The is are used to help you push your creep, so you push them about one creep tumour further than your current creep to spot lurking units (adepts and hellions mostly). ZvZ: Mostly on the whole paths between you and your opponent, ready to be brought back if mutas.

Using the 'resume from replay' can also help with this. Otherwise you can try the unit tester. There is an option to have the opposite army 'A-move', so you can pre-position/split it and then hide it so you only have vision and control of your own units and you start his a-move or keep them hold-position.

Likely some kind of cheat/AI, if you look at their pov from replay you might see massive amounts of spam clicking in the same location Some accounts have a bug which shows the wrong apm but I've never heard of even the "fastest" progamer going above 700

I don't know if it's still the case but i believe there was a time when some ~none-standard create-command-group command inflated apm massively. (I think that's a reason why TLO had very high apm iirc.). Also, wouldn't it be possible just to rapid fire some useless command like move command? So i think AbouSV is spot on

So i think AbouSV is spot on AI's doing only roaches with massive apm is not new, and as I said, even a real player spamming like crazy shouldn't be able to maintain 790 apm, especially in diamond. Because you eventually have to manage stuff that don't allow to rapidfire randomly

But not on my laptop; I promised it'll stay game-free

(I'm a noob) in game, there is no way. you need an optional combination of modifier keys (alt, shift, ctrl) with an ordinary key or mouse button. eg. [ alt+shift ] + A . there are some external programs which might be able to rebind your space key temporarily to one of those modifiers, but I don't know them. check this for more info (the core doc on modifier rebinding / swapping) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aKCnVl90qck6HbSLQD3jw11bleuVBqtLpYSUb4rsvtI/edit . -- maybe you should try using alt+1, alt+2, etc? edit: pros use f1..f4, it is helpful to find a keyboard which has smaller gap between the 1..9 and f1..f12 key rows.

Good info. Thanks. I thought about using Synapse but maybe I'm just better off using F keys like normal
