Hey guys, dropping a blogpost just because of good old times and all the people who knew me and I also might know who still browse TL.
Recently I picked up SC:BW again after watching some Artosis and Tasteless stream. I totally forgot about the game and I had my hands busy with work and other things.
Anyway here's what happened in the past years: after quitting as a progamer I started my poker career, which went way better than expected. I was very successful at poker, more than I thought I would, and even though it went well I wanted to switch to a more longterm lifeplan.
I tried different stuff along the way and learned a lot, and in the end I ended up becoming an entrepreneur and now I have a few businesses with my best friend, who is also an ex progamer and esports team manager. Business is also going really well, I don't make as much money as poker as of now but future looks bright for our company.
I think all the experience from competitive gaming and playing tournaments really taught us a lot about life and how to handle problems and setbacks. I am blessed I was able to be part of all that and live the eSports experience to the fullest.
A couple years ago in gym I had a vein explode in my head and I was operated for aneurysm. I basically could have died or become retarded (well, some people think I always was ). I had my head opened and had a difficult brain surgery, which in the end was successful.
I still had to stay 1 month in hospital under intensive care. I was forced to shit in my bed in hospital and had constant headaches and dizzyness, but trust me it feels good to be alive after being so close to losing it all.
I have not 100% recovered and I am not sure I ever will, but it's good enough to live normally, being able to work and play games. So now I started playing SC:BW again and Magic the Gathering.
Playing and watching Starcraft really brings back good feelings, and I'm also planning to stream a bit, maybe every day, after I'm done with work. Anyone who whish to do so, you can come by to say hi and tell me how terrible I became at Starcraft. That would be very appreciated
BTW I paid my karma by playing Terran in SC2, so I feel no shame a-moving with Protoss again See you in the next days!
I only know you from the SC2 days, especially from the times in the EPS and your legendary games against GoOdy. Do you have any intention on maybe fire up SC2 again and even stream it?
Hahaha thanks guys, your posts made me really happy.
I won't be playing SC2 btw, the last expansion made the game much better than in the past, but SC2 is more Strategy/Timing based than SC:BW and right now it's a completely different game than when I used to play it. I have no time to relearn the game again and I would be ashamed to stream at the level I'm at in SC2 right now :D
ps. In the past years I actually delved further into the forbidden secret art of penis enlargement. I'm not sure this is the right time for it but I might make a blog post in the future to enlighten you guys even further. Time will tell.
Hey welcome back! I'm glad to see you're still living life to the fullest despite the issues. I'm glad to hear your in a good space and would love to tune into your stream!
Hey! I’m only vaguely familiar with your name from SC2 days but I just wanted to say seeing your success story and your upbeat attitude shine through your post brought a smile to me this morning. Glad you’re doing OK and I may check you out even though I’ve never seen you play before haha. What language do you stream and what time/times will you be on?
I have to thank TT1 for coaching my TvP in SC2 when we were both in Germany. I wouldn't have won an important match back then without his help. Is life treating you well Payam? I'm afraid I can't eat sweets like a maniacal sugar obsessed fat kid anymore. I still try my best to do gym and diet properly even after the brain surgery. Please eat sugary foods for me aswell.
Right now my mmr in ranked is 2100, I think it's alright after so much inactivity. I'll stream in english and hopefully most koreans won't lag. I am getting so many protoss players doing proxy gate in pvp, and I assume players with maphack are running rampant on the ladder right now. Anyone knows if that's the case? I guess nothing could be done about it anyway.
I think the best part about starcraft is this youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT8WkJq5KxPtWoD5SCZ0uAw I don't know about you guys, but this channel is the most hysterical thing I've ever watched about Starcraft. Btw thanks Artosis for the quality content :D
Haha na I'm just reminiscing on good times, I've given up on sugar too, closest I get to it now is coke zero :D
Everything's been good, been playing BW on and off to keep the competitive juices flowing. Like you said, the mindset/lessons we've learned from our experiences is invaluable so I try to sharpen them whenever I can.
