It really demotivates players to play if there are pro's involved since the skill gap is just too big. Maybe even allowing 1 "merc" per team if possible? It started from non-korean teams and non-korean players and now it's swarmed with semi-pros and some pros being involved to get a few bucks for showing up. Even tho it helps connect both non-korean and korean communities, it doesnt have the impact that we would all expect since koreans dont really respect any sort of foreigners playing SC:BW, except those who live outside of south korea so they done get casted into a corner and not have any friends.
I don't agree. I like to see some encounters between top foreigners vs. semi-pros or even pro koreans. We almost don't have any chance to see it elsewhere. We have ASL for Koreans and BSL for foreigners, but never a place to see them playing against each other. We don't even have occasional WCG like we used to, where we had seen some upsets. So, in short we need MORE encounters between those two worlds, not less.

Never quite understood what's the point of this, especially in the current era? seeing 9 roflstomps just to see one occasional upset, most of the time via some dirty cheese strat or build order win is not really what I like to watch, not what I enjoy at all. Besides, there is a tournament called Jeez Weekly where top foreigners can meet with korean pros and semi-pros already.

I believe right now there is 0 restrictions, but a general feedback was to allow only players that played a certain amount of games during regular season or something of that sort?

Hi both, I'll speak to the captains and see what they feel. I understand your frustrations, but the rule will more likely (if agreed upon) be needing x games played in the group stage to be eligible to play in the playoffs.
Sounds like an improvement. Thanks Qikz!

Note of map version change - Freakling has updated Inner Coven from ASL to the new version. With this comes a new name - Core Breach!
Changelog from Freakling here:
* The middle reworked to fit the altered concept (there's some buildable space for turrets now) * added the small drop cliffs at ring expos. * general tweaking and bugfixing
The new version aims to keep the gameplay of the ASL version, but ameliorate some of the lingering imbalance against Terran.
This will be the version used in STPL and is included in the STPL map back on the discord!

The results are confirmed and I can finally announce who won the Season 2 bracket contest.
Congratulations to Ej who did a fantastic job predicting everything, compared to him I did terribly!

Shoutouts as well to everyone else who took part, it was a relatively close race at the top, but it appears just a few misscalculated scores from Avi, M3t4 and fischei cost them the title of winner. Ej, I'll be PMing you with a code from Teamliquid worth $100 on the TL Store! <3

I want to dedicate this win to WHITE who changed their finals line-up at the last moment and tanked the bo7!
