From iNcontroL’s Twitter: To offer some solace in this time of grief: We've learned that Geoff passed quickly and painlessly from a blood clot in his lungs. He was with friends. He always urged and led us by example to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Remember to do that for him today.

My sincere condolences to his friends, family and to all the people who knew him and looked up to him. Losing someone is always hard, just don't try to punch through a concrete wall to process it, like i did. I strongly suggest not hitting anything harder than drywall.

I'm not sure to where to find it, but you are. Also, take care of yourselves. Eat, Drink, Stretch, Walk. You are worth a trip to a Doctor - body or mind, or both. To paraphrase the wiseman Day "...return to the things that bring you joy".

RIP to a great man who lived his life as a great example for all of us on how to live ours. Uncomprimising in his passion and willing to chase, and achieve, his dreams.

Despite that, I have respect for anyone who's put a lot of time and effort trying to grow the community. I still remember the time that Incontrol was the face of EG as well. News is sad all around especially considering how young he was and how there were signs that were missed (the shortness of breath for instance). Condolences to his family and friends.

Everyone who was anyone in the foreign SC2 scene at the time was there. Truly everyone that made Starcraft 2 what it was for me and most people. The whole EG team, Dignitas, WhiteRa, SaSe, Apollo etc. Honestly I was in the minority not being "in the scene" as mostly everyone there was a caster or a player. The energy in that room was incredible, on par with high energy events like a wedding, or a big crazy college party. It was just the best. I think we watched the Koreans play when they flew them over, or maybe it was the finals with MVP. Or both, I'm not sure. So I don't remember the full details, and I really hope Cunningham's law can take hold here, but there were these 2 stout gentlemen that were battling for something. I can't remember what, or if that was even what it was. But they had to rock paper scissors. But that wasn't good enough for Geoff. He wanted to raise the stakes iirc, and he was very adamant and just took control of the room completely. Next thing I know there's these 2 nerds at the front that looked like this was about to turn into the least sexy wresting contest in history. It was hilarious, everyone is howling with laughter. Geoff commanded presence and created that moment. Idk, its just I always thought about what the community would be like when one of these guys passed away in like, what, 20-30 years maybe? I was looking forward to 20-30 years of the holiday bash with the Plott brothers and crew. RIP Geoff, MLG Anaheim was a highlight of my life. Meeting you, Day9, Tasteless, Artosis, WhiteRa (our pic was my phone background for years), my favorite player at the time SaSe, and of course how could I forget the lovely Team Liquid players in my intro.
