From iNcontroL’s Twitter: To offer some solace in this time of grief: We've learned that Geoff passed quickly and painlessly from a blood clot in his lungs. He was with friends. He always urged and led us by example to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Remember to do that for him today. | ||

He inspired a lot of people to live healthy, but sometimes having a healthy life style is not enough sadly... People should have medical check-ups regularly and be more aware of their current health. I will forget all my worries for the time being and try to appreciate and take better care of myself as a tribute to Incontrol... a real legend. in the years to come as I visit teamliquid, I hope I would never forget greats like KT.Violet, TotalBiscuit, Incontrol and everyone who helped establish this scene and brought me great inspiration and entertainment. | ||

Geoff was one of the main figures I connected to in the scene over time. We shared the same love for sports, gaming, music, philosophy, the importance of being articulate, and more. I got the chance to meet him three separate times, and he always struck me as someone to look up to, even though we aren't that far off in age. He always was a bastion of knowledge and catharsis for what the struggles of mental health and physical health can be, and was always a person I could look to for a laugh (usually at someone else's expense XD). He will truly be missed by almost everyone in the scene. For anyone interested, or for those who are looking for more storytelling on top of Day9's great stream, Nathanias did a long stream thoroughly detailing Geoff's impact on him and those he worked with.  unbelievable...However, I will say that despite this tragedy, it truly warms my heart to see everybody coming together, remembering Geoff, and speaking to how our lives have been brightened in some way by him. He's definitely in a lot of my happiest, more hilarious memories of starcraft. I'll really, really miss him, fuck. | ||

I am just a person who enjoys watching StarCraft and interacting with the players and the community, but this hit me and a lot of other people so hard, what it shows me over and over again how strong the bonding to the game and its people is. Hope you are able to do whatever you want in heaven. We miss and love you. Thank you for all you have done for this game and its community. | ||

Tears just welled up in me while hearing about this and I could not control myself at all.. I have not cried in a very long time prior to this. I'm truly feeling loss... It's so heartbreaking and I have a hard time believe it's actually true... My condolences goes out to everyone and especially his family and close friends. It's a huge loss for the community and dare I say humanity... =( Stay strong! Rest in peace Geoff! <3 | ||

Watched him stream a couple of time, some of his Youtube uploads where he talks, but then The Pylon on a regular basis. Sometimes I found him borderline rude, other times overly reasonable. He made me laugh many times, gave food for thought and his presence tied the Starcraft scene together. Never saw him in person (while I met some other casters) and was too lazy to go to a HSC even though I live in Germany and Cologne (Krefeld) is not that far away. Hearing his fellow friends talk "he was like ..." sounds so wrong. Was? | ||

Was? you can voice your grief .. it is a good thing to try to put it in words.. writing it and then seeing it on screen is not the same as "thinking it".. it could be worse not to express this grief but to each his / her own  | ||
