rest in peace
omg... this is a shock

From iNcontroL’s Twitter: To offer some solace in this time of grief: We've learned that Geoff passed quickly and painlessly from a blood clot in his lungs. He was with friends. He always urged and led us by example to take care of ourselves to the best of our ability. Remember to do that for him today.

Prayers with him and his family. He was such a positive force that pushed SC, SC2 and EG in the right directions. Loved his jokes. Loved his shoutcasts. Dude is a legend. Can probably also bench 100 hydralisk skulls as well.

I remember Incontrol from the old BW days when he was in 88) and played US East. I did catch a small part of Day9's stream when he was reminiscing and talked about Clain X17 and Clan ~NoHunters and that was a trip down memory lane! So I remember his rise as a player pretty well. I played a bit of WoL, but stopped playing for a long time until I got back into SC2 within the last year or so. I've greatly enjoyed the Pylon Show and following the scene since then and InControl was a big part of it. I found him to be a very insightful, funny, genuine guy. I guess I also felt a sense of kinship with him because we were about the same age and had shared the obvious similar interest in starcraft dating back to the BW days. So we would've both been in high school back then and his experience with that being a big part of his life back then was very relatable to me. I found his passion for the game and drive to make this a career very inspiring. It seems like he was pretty universally impactful on people around the scene and he will certainly be missed by me. It's kind of hard to even look at it the same way right now, so I hope that passes. RIP, Geoff, and condolences to his family and friends.

The embolism probably came from the abscess on his femoral artery which was caused by an undiagnosed staph infection in his abdomen.

Sad to see him go. He was such a big personality that really made people gravitate towards what he was passionate about (in this case Starcraft)

Years ago he was found to have high glicemia/cholesterol due to high carbs/fat intake. Talking about lean mass, not body fat percentage

Mirroring Tod's sentiment, i'm not religiously minded, but even still i'd like to think somewhere out there Geoff and TB are playing out matches in that great LAN party in the sky.
