Getting into a flow is also easier when you start out easy, very similar to doing a warming up. But gratz on your new PC bobbias, I hope you get used to it soon! I've been inactive for the last months. Did Taiko for a while and reached 4000pp there (i believe, haven't logged on in a while), and quit afterwards. I might try mania again as well. Perhaps get an A on Double Helix this time Osu did delete 90% of my scores, unfortunately. All my good scores are gone. (all game modes..)

Right now I'm kinda in a semi-active state. I'm trying to derust, but I dont have the same kind of motivation that I had when I played every single day. I play maybe a few times a week on a good week.

Still kinda rusty, still getting used to my mech kb. But I finally got a not bad score: https://vimeo.com/308433102 (because YT immediately blocked it worldwide) And also, what the everloving fuck is this accuracy... 10ms offset ruined what would have been an excellent run, but I still FC'd it despite that:

Writing this because I'm bored while waiting for my laptop to move all osu songs to an external hard drive. Lack of hard drive space seriously annoyed me, as I only have around 250GB. It's turns out osu takes more than 40% of that, lol. How's your mech keyboard play doing, Bobbias, still getting used to things? I'm kindof inactive atm. Doing some taiko because it's the easiest to play decently with lack of practice. Also, it turns out I need glasses (+1/+.5). I'm curious whether that makes a difference in osu. With a little bit of luck it will be easier to have correct posture. I usually have a tendency to bow forward when playing.

There's an improved version of the third party tablet driver so that's nice Glasses are pretty huge! My visual issues are around 3 times larger than that but i was stubborn for a long time about using them; my osu and general gaming ability is much better with them. It's important to get the right kind of frame so that it can be adjusted in the correct ways to fit your face and head, i've always needed larger nose pad things as well. There are some big PP changes coming! https://github.com/ppy/osu-wiki/pull/2000 --- post-rework i have some pretty big gains on top scores: Shoji Meguro - The Battle for Everyone's Souls [Morning Star] going up from 245 to 283 - that was my old top play for a long time, one of my fav's recommended by scottyyy and i still have the video on my TL profile :D + Show Spoiler + Dreamtale - The Dawn [Superior] up from 217 to 266. Cool map, high OD with some awkward jumps and i got a very high acc on it which was a top rank on the map at the time + Show Spoiler + Crystalis Fantasia gained 40pp as well + Show Spoiler + i guess there will be inflation in general on PP, excluding specific maps which were abusing the formula which is probably good overall, pp mapping has been an absolute cancer on the game. I would usually lean more towards ignoring it but it's hard to ignore when it's had such a huge impact on the mapping scene. These few stick out the most with far above average gains FD4D HRHD is also borderline 900pp now after being set at 799.87(?) which i'm very much in favor of, it's unmatched and one of the most impressive scores IMO. All of these deserved significant buffs against pp trashmaps but i'm not sure how many other maps do with the new system. The current third party tablet driver is great, it does a lot of stuff. At the moment i have it set to take the raw input from the tablet and buffer it for a short period of time to both smooth it out and interpolate it to 1000hz. The result is a somewhat low latency (not mouse level latency, but consistent and playable.. good for a tablet) without the cursor shake and with a position update every 1ms instead of 7-8ms.

https:// twitter.com/FunOrange42/status/1012527912262815745 tl;dr inconsistent rotation of the sensor ruins everything Imperfect sensors can also add lots more of their own drift

I have to admit to still not buying any glasses. I'm too lazy to actually go and get one. i guess there will be inflation in general on PP, excluding specific maps which were abusing the formula which is probably good overall, pp mapping has been an absolute cancer on the game. I would usually lean more towards ignoring it but it's hard to ignore when it's had such a huge impact on the mapping scene. This is one of my initial dissappointments with the 'new' pp system (switched around 2013/14?). Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of weaknesses of the old system. However, I noticed I used to search for new, unconventional maps, while after the change, you needn't look any further than the popular maps. I also felt like maps became more homogeneous after a while, although that might be my nostalgia coming up. (and I wasn't ranked worse in the new system, went from 3.5k to 1.3k) I'm sorry that I can't really comment on recent tweaks, I'm never online anymore. On the mouse thing made by funorange. One of the more frequent questions I got from 'beginning' mouse players was how to prevent drift, so it definitely was/is an issue. I used to have a claw grip, and a large part of my practice was trying to prevent the mouse cursor drift in the animation. It's impossible to prevent though. Part of being a mouse player is dealing with drift.. And now for my own new input. It's not really osu! related, but still relevant. I went to something called a 'video game museum', which was effectively an arcade, with all kinds of old arcade machines and some VR stuff. There was stuff from the 80's until the smash ultimate. And everything playable for free except for entrance fee. Two things nice: - I finally tried a real taiko machine. I never had drumsticks in my hands before, so it was a weird feeling, but it felt surprisingly natural. There was decent delay, unfortunately, and you had to hit everything quite hard. I didn't expect otherwise, but the 'real' taiko experience was quite different from osu taiko. The mechanics are quite different. It was good fun, I managed to get like 7 stars songs passable in a few plays, comparable to 3/3.5 osu star pattern difficulty. So some skill transfers. Apart from the AR being too low, I had no trouble reading. - Some time ago Cyro, you posted the VR lightsaber rythm game here. I got them to let me actually try a few songs of that. I was quite happy, as I've been trying to have a go at it. To sum it up, it was way more natural than I thought. The arrows determining the cut direction weren't quite my thing, but still. It was surprising to me that there was very little delay, at least not noticable. It was very different than I'm used to in the sense that there is no physical feedback to your actions (for example, your button presses back, when you press it). I think I liked the game more than I tought when I first saw it on youtube. Fun part: I was there with my younger sister, so while I was playing, the guy organizing the stuff began talking to her. He was worried it would be too hard when i picked a 'normal' song. I missed quite a lot, not realizing there were these direction arrows. When my second song came up and I chose hard, he began to laugh. Of course I wasn't used to reading patterns, so missed a lot again. But in my second 'hard' try, my sister told me he suddenly became very silent when I had 70+ combos. Although very childish, that made me feel pretty good xD (not saying that 'hard' is actually hard, it's not..) Sorry for the long semi-offtopic post. I just felt like posting it.

The arrows determining the cut direction weren't quite my thing, but still. It was surprising to me that there was very little delay, at least not noticable. The VR setups are usually 90hz with minimized software delays, so considerably faster than a standard PC AFAIK. They have to be so that the input lag on head movement isn't nauseating but still need improvement. They're a bit slower and a lot less smooth and consistent than 240hz monitors ;D Fun part: I was there with my younger sister, so while I was playing, the guy organizing the stuff began talking to her. They definitely did, with the mapping system being rigged by a small community to promote maps which gamed the new system rather than maps that were fun or diverse. At this point several of the most prominent mappers and players have been openly manipulating the system to get max points at the top of the leaderboard without major controversy. Some of the most fun maps for me make moderate-heavy use of stuff like sliders and awkward angle jumps which were widely abandoned by most mappers because they didn't give as much PP as other mapping methods.

Oneshot mouse warmup play, i'm feeling really good about my timing sense recently. A long time ago i had to spam restart maps 100+ times to get UR's mostly in the double digits. 87 is practically unheard of for me and the ease of doing it is great!

I'm used to laptop screens atm, so I wouldn't notice the difference between a top tier monitor and 'a lot less smooth' to begin with @Bobbias: in my youtube comment I didn't mean you had to immediately post in the thread... I didn't even know you streamed at all, do you have a link? (I know you don't regularly, but whatever..) I suddenly had a motivation peak after our youtube conversation, and decided to practice some mania again. My muscles are now sore, but managed to reach a lot of my old scores. Also, passed 2 dan LN: Also, I'm still 10% below you, Bobbias. Also, other good score. Playing more LN really helps. Don't mind the near fail at the end, it's hp9. Would recommend, it's a really fun map!

As for my twitch it's https://twitch.tv/bobbias as you might expect given that this is the only name I use for anything online :p Currently playing in an interprovincial tournament for 4k. Next match @ 4pm est Sunday. https://osu.ppy.sh/community/forums/topics/873756 EDIT: I've been practicing for the tourney a bit so I've got scorev2 on making this impossible to compare, but still.

My reading and postural stuff (including stiffness everywhere) seems pretty good atm, i'm setting some personal bests despite only having played with tablet a couple hours in the last weeks.
