Any other takers? :3
I will play. I need to brush up my skills for 3.1 so I don't die miserably. Will try summoner prob. HC though
Damn, I have such a hard time enjoying PoE with Nioh being around. I'll prolly use that some more to scratch my itch for big loot instead of pretty much doing a race where we've got so few people invested in HC. =P
Question, I just checked out the Turmoil events, and if I read it correctly, ANYONE can get those Turmoil level prizes as long as you r each those levels within the 10 day period?
Or ONLY a set amount of people who reached it the fastest (example, first 1000 SC players to reach lvl 35)?
edit: I was going to wait until 3.1.0, but I might just try out these Turmoil events.

Since it specifically says they are a random draw any character that reaches those lvls gives 1 entry into the drawing at the end of the event. (except the 35 chest which is simply 1 per account guaranteed.

Everyone gets the level 35 box. The rest of the prizes are gifted to a randomly selected person who reached level whatever at the end of the event.
Seems interesting. It might force you to play certain maps on certain builds though which is kind of bad if you shape your atlas.
For instance, if you take an open map like shore a projectile based build is going to clear that way faster than a cycloner. Whereas in Cells the difference shouldn't be that big. Of course this then also depends on how they measure the xp/hour.
I really like the packsize change and the fact that it boosts corrupted maps. On the other hand, it probably means that everbody will just play their maps as "alch & go" unless they rebalance red map drops accordingly.
Based on the hints regarding 3.1's changes, it sounds like the entire atlas system will be seeing some changes so I don't think we should consider everything from the current standpoint of shaping & sextanting vs completion etc.
I love it, balancing maps around them having similar xp/h has been something I would have loved to see since a while. Annoying layouts are fine if they're somewhat rewarding.
The real question is how much we trust GGGs "extensive experience-per-hour testing" =P
e: Regarding "alch & go" maps, in retrospect I'd say that sustaining a map pool has been taken out of the game roughly since Atlas anyway. It's sometimes a bit bump early, can be bumpy if you're into the highest tiers but all in all once you're at ~80+ completion things are rather smooth.
I would suggest that given a new equality in maps with respect to clearspeed or whatever, we may see people gravitate towards maps with valuable divination cards. However... that's kinda already the case so... lol
Still, if i get the same xp/h farming strand or cells you can bet i'll never set foot in cells again regardless of the amount of mobs lol. Why suffer pain for no gain xd
Something will always be best/most convenient and that will get spammed. Still, giving people more choice by trying to equalize xp/hr somewhat is nice.
the thing is, for strand and cells to have the same xp/h, cells will surely have more mobs. It's the only way that could be true given that cells takes much longer to traverse. Therefore for map sustain purposes, certain maps may be much better.
I'm thinking purely straight maps like Canyon and Racecourse will be kinda bad, while hidden gems like Bog, Burial Chambers, Castle Ruins may be pretty good. Places that have somewhat inefficient layouts but aren't pure pain like Cells is what I'm going to try out. Shrine could be a big one: has a headhunter div card but baddish layout.
but yea like sn0 man says they may revamp the system, and I'm hoping they do
well that "mechanics" video really didn't explain the mechanics at all but whatever.
It's also pretty unclear how we are supposed to get these "shaped" and "elder" items (maybe elder ones from the elder guardian map bosses but then how shpaed ones?). I think they are a terrible idea in general, but the success of the tempest binding is an indication that some items like this should be both powerful and build-enabling in a very positive way.
not sure what's with all these uncorrupted items with white sockets (including the new unique bow?).
Most of the new supports I'll need to either see higher level values or see how they work in practice before I can suggest that they are good or not.
The new uniques are underwhelming as fuck except the hungry loop which looks INSANE DOPE although maybe awkward to actually use (can i put a level 20 gem in or do i have to press the little "+" sign with it in the ring? can i overwrite older gems? etc)

it this a completed abyss? if so, the density is low compared to breach, less trash and more rares. also you have to move quite a bit between waves so there's some wasted time there
