I'll definitely buy into the early access for 30 USD, but I'm not sure if I want any of the supporter packs... none of them appeal to me.

i'm super hyped. they cleaned everything up beyond my expectations. my first char back in closed beta was ground slam marauder, I'm running it back with Warrior this time. Stun / shields seem like they could be OP

wonder if the guild also carries over into poe2 or do we have to remake it, I'd assume it just would considering almost everything is being carried over.

But it does feel cheap. It is full of bugs.. The Spiritborn is OP as fuck (due to bad programming/bugs), and just recently there was a bug that gave you 4 million HP and made you one-shot everything in the game. POE2 looks amazing and polished. Whether it's full of bugs as well remains to be seen, but it looks very good.

They'd basically take you to mid-late maps, but with no real idea how to scale beyond that, especially with defense. You might hear a lot about getting more defensive layers, but understanding how to actually apply that to a build is really hard starting out. A lot of the sites you'll find googling have really atrocious guides. Other than Maxroll I'd probably avoid every guide site out there. The poe build subreddit has a stickied thread of decent league starter builds, which are generally the kind of build you'd want as a new player: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/1eaudsu/325_settlers_of_kalguur_league_start_build_index/ A lot of those creators have other content you can look at. Certain people like Pohx and Zizaran cater more toward the very new player, but most guides are more toward the player who isn't brand new but also isn't experienced. 2.) Outdated info. This is a hard one to address since there are a lot of changes every league and leagues are typically every 3-4 months. Poewiki.net is the only wiki you should use for looking things up. Otherwise, if a post or video is more than two leagues old you run the risk of bad info (frankly, even one league old can be problematic in some cases). This was a problem I ran into a lot when trying to look up things about league mechanics. For guides, you really want to stick with guides made for the current league. There's a good chance anything older will rely on items or mechanics that are gone/have changed. Builds made ages ago that have been "updated" are hot garbage more often than not. This is specifically referring to old videos or guides that just update the text or notes without an actual new guide being made. A lot of times you just have to go to a place like here or the build sub's Q&A thread to ask questions to get up to date info. Sometimes you just screw something up and learn from experience. POE's a rabbit's nest that can take years to fully explore. In my opinion, good guides are really the best way to approach starting out since there's just so much you won't know exists. There are always loads of build guides made each league to look at. In terms of tools worth using: Path of Building Community Edition - This'll be used with basically every guide out there to load in builds or play around making your own. CraftOfExile.com - A bit advanced for starting out, but useful for looking up what can actually appear on each item. More importantly, there's an emulator where you can test crafting methods out before doing it in game. There are a lot of little gotchas so it's worth going here to verify things work as expected before spending currency in-game. Awakened PoE Trade - Mostly to help price items. Not worth using on rares since figuring out what's worth something is way too complicated for it, but does pretty good for uniques. I'd recommend changing the settings to have a 0% tolerance on the item rolls since many uniques value is tied heavily to its rolls (by default it lowers everything by 10% for searching). There are other sites and tools, but they're a bit much for just starting out. Empyrean Gaming (youtube) also has been doing a series on different money making strategies the last few leagues. This is not at all catered to the new player, but can be a useful place to look if you do reach maps and want to start pushing deeper into making money or just seeing what options are out there. Thanks for the effort you put into this great answer ![]() Do you feel this will be valid when starting out from scratch on PoE2? Since it's a new game?

I don't expect there to be a PoB for PoE2 for a very long time. I can see them putting together a bare skeleton that lets you path a tree, but I'm not expecting functional damage calculations for a year or more. PoB's codebase is a pretty scary place. Supposedly GGG has made big improvements on the in-game damage calculations and previews, so hopefully that helps bridge the gap. I can see the likes of Exilence or Awakened PoE finding their way over pretty quick, though. I'm guessing GGG are going to continue using the same API (or one pretty similar) for that stuff, and at the end of the day it's just tracking prices on trade to compare to items in stashes. I don't forsee there being big changes on that side of things. --- For me, right now I'm leaning toward Stormweaver (sorceress) or Infernalist (witch). I've got no interest in minions, so it'll depend on how Infernalist fares as a caster. I'm hoping we'll get the full ascendancy trees for each class before EA starts.

Just the opening cinematic in that reveal stream absolutely blew my mind tbh, but the gameplay trailer solidified it. Peak Blizzard level or better which is amazing for a 'free' game. I'm all the way in.

Congratulations you have have been invited to Path of Exile 2 Early Access as thanks for your lifetime support of Path of Exile. If you've already purchased a Path of Exile 2 Supporter Pack you will have been granted an additional key to share with a friend instead. In the "manage early access" subpage of my account i only have one key though. is this the... key i got for friends then? Or is that just a dumb wording / auto msg and everybody gets the same message even if they bought a pack for access ? I`m a bit confused. I was also pretty damn sure i didnt spent enough moneys on this game, but who knows... its been quite a few years.

The EA supporter pack key does not actually confer entry to POE2 (it just adds the client to your steam account); the supporter pack itself is what gave entry. In other words, buying the EA supporter pack and giving that key to someone else doesn't give them access to POE2. Thus, if you both paid for an EA supporter pack and also are eligible for the lifetime support entry, they give you a separate key that can be given away.
