Every class looks super appealing minus the ranger just because I played one recently in Poe1. Either the Ranger didn't get changed much from PoE 1 to PoE 2 or she got the short end of the stick in the presentation. No "OOMPH" to her skills, nothing flashy was shown. I think Jonathan Rogers said the Ranger is currently the only class that can have a mount - the Roa, but it wasn't shown in the trailer. She was definitely presented as the most bland class so far.

I also think she's super bland, but mostly because it doesn't feel any different from what already exists. The Deadeye ascendancy feels like a carbon copy. I think people interested in that playstyle will opt for mercenary / crossbows instead.

It is early access so the expectations should be lower but they are asking money so expect an instant down hype of my dad not loving me anymore after the servers crash.

Trying to create some free time for the weekend after this one. Hopefully everything will be smoothed out by then

We'll cook something up when things launch, we definitely need that pretty chatbox with cool people. ....I don't know which flavour of caster to play ahhhhh

Respec passive points with gold makes build mistakes less punishing, skill gem system is more "themed" by class, so easier to know what works together. OTOH the difficulty of combat seems to be higher, and can't corpse rush a boss - if you die campaign boss get their HP refilled. It's still going to be one of the more complicated ARPGs, because builds / mechanics are really free form

There is no alternative way to respec other than gold and gold is not tradeable, so you can now end up in situations where you need to change points but have no means to do so. It also means that if gold has other, better uses (e.g. Settlers), then the opportunity cost is much higher for respeccing. They've said that larger skill tree changes will come with free respecs, but there's no targeted way to do it. That means there's likely going to be cases where things change that significantly affect your build, but the change wasn't large enough to warrant everyone getting a free respec. I can easily see situations with this system being more punishing, rather than less.

I think new system is a looooot better for new players and early game though. Regret orbs are more expensive / punishing early, and easy to acquire later, whereas the gold system should be the inverse. In the beginning when we are first trying out new weapon types / skills, should be the time that we can more easily respec, can farm gold on your own without having to trade site. still I think they should put regret orbs back in even if they make it more rare or whatever

It'll depend on the costs, really. Settlers is really the only league we've had to go by. The values felt pretty good until like level 50, then really ramped up super high. By the beginning of maps it felt pretty punishing to respec even a few points. It's an open question if they've made any changes to costs after seeing how it was used in Settlers. If they actually did look, they probably saw that it was close to 0% usage after campaign, but a lot of times things like that don't really occur to them. I'm a little concerned going into release. I've been looking at playing Infernalist and there's a lot of self-damage that's tacked onto that. It's pretty hard to gauge how much is going to be needed to manage that and what will or won't synergize, so if respec costs are already spiraling out of control at level 50 it's going to be a bad time.

The problem was respecting before endgame while you are testing your build during the campaign. So I'm interested how much you can respec now with gold in the midgame.

I expect a lot of unstable servers for at least the first 12 hours, meaning lag, disconnects etc. Under the given premise, there is so much precedent for this reliably happening throughout the entire industry with this premise that if it were to run smoothly, I would be completely flabbergasted. And other companies charge more than 30 bucks. I'm not defending putting a price tag on an Early Access title of this size or not providing the possibility to play offline btw.; just saying that a price tag means nothing in terms of server stability.
