Alva and harvest are on opposite sides of the map. Harvest is worth it only after really dedicated builds like my rotation and go or a really pricy awakened and go.
If you're doing dele and Alva then shrines and scarbs could juice your on Map loot.
Alva is pretty good money right now. The Timelines scarab is flying under the radar again; it's like 10c for a 1/3ish chance at 110c - 1.8d. I'm probably averaging a hit closer to 1/2 maps since double room is better odds.
The new trade system is interesting too. I hope it comes soon to PoE1 too, I was tired of leaving my hideout all the time while doing maps or delve or wathever.
Call me old school or whatever but I much prefer direct trading, even with its downsides. Hearing this was certainly a downer for me. Another major downer was the support skill change. The fact that you could only socket each support gem once was such a fantastic change from PoE. All that was needed imho was more support gems and an overhaul on the existing support gems, i.e. make them more impactful/interesting. This will just lead to most support gems not being used because some will just simply be better and that's it. Fantastic.
Apart from those two changes, everything else looks great. I'm just sad they are going to remove the interlude acts once act 5 arrives. Jonathan even said "no worries, the bosses will be reused, we are not gonna just throw them away" but they are going to throw away everything else (areas, npcs, story) as if that doesn't matter.

This is my current setup without items, can't change them anyway without finding them first :D The general idea of the build was to use all 3 elements in a rotation, getting the best of the worlds together, having all the best supports because i use such a range of skills and not just all ice or something like that. Also my wife said i should use fire when i asked her which element to do next and fire sucked so hard in the early game, that i adapted to using all 3.
Currently i am somewhat fine, the build works, damage is okay, mana is bad, i am not one shotting act 6 but i can kill all bosses reasonably fast. I am using Frost Orb, Orb of Lightning, Solar Orb, Flame Wall, not all of them all the time, and then i spam Eye of Winter.
...
They changed Eye of Winter's interaction with Flame Wall
Eye of Winter: When passing through an allied Flame Wall, the Eye itself and now all the shards it subsequently released will receive the Flame Wall's added Fire Damage.
Flame Wall gives huge base damage compared to eye of winter's base damage (64 to 91 vs. 17 to 25), so flame wall + eye of winter should be enough now. In comparison, +75% of eye of winter's base damage from each elemental orb isn't much.
PoE2 question - I played a lot of PoE2 last winter, and it's been quite a few months since I've touched the game but I'm interested in playing again. I just logged back in after installing the brand new patch that dropped yesterday (The Third Edict)... and I see that all my characters have disappeared, all my microtransactions / cosmetics / extra stash slots/labels are gone, and even the TL guild I had joined doesn't exist anymore (or, at least, I'm no longer a member of it).
Even in the Standard league, which is where my old characters were, everything is completely wiped out. Is this normal for a new patch, especially during the beta, because of all the changes that occur? I'm logged in to the same account I had always used, but literally everything is gone (including things I spent money on), as if this were my first time ever turning on / playing the game.
I just created two new characters (which are now, apparently, my only characters), just to travel to town for the "first" time. I expected my new Rise Of The Abyssal League character to be a completely blank slate with nothing special in their stash, but I was surprised when my new Standard League character got to town and had nothing either - nothing stored/shared, no guild access, no references to old Standard League characters or past purchases, etc.
Is this typical, or is this strange? Will I ever see my old characters or microtransactions ever again? When I sign in to the PoE website's account, my old characters are still there, but I have no idea how to access them in the game. Thanks! (I also don't have multiple accounts / sub-accounts; I haven't linked different accounts together - I've only ever had one account, and it's on PC.)

The game certainly didn't delete your characters. My characters are all still there. There are a few things that come to mind:
1. In the character selection screen there is a drop down menu. Put it on "all" and you should see your old characters as well.
2. Open the micro-transaction window ("K" I think or from the menu). You should be able to see all your microtransactions, including those in use. You can reclaim the microtransactions there.
3. Your account could have been hacked and the chars deleted. Your microtransactions should still be there though.
4. If everything is indeed gone, don't hesitate to contact the support. I have heard they are pretty helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately, neither 1 nor 2 are true for me - the old characters are gone and my microtransactions aren't available/there, as I had already said. As for 3, I'm pretty confident that no one else has been on my account (the number of hours played, which Steam keeps a count of, hasn't changed in like 6 months). I did contact GGG/PoE support immediately with my concerns (they haven't responded yet), so I'm hoping option 4 works out

Good luck then! Let us know how it turns out.
Update: I just received a response from them. They asked if I was playing PoE2 through the Steam client or the Standalone PoE2 installer. I'd only used the former, never the latter. I then installed the latter, and all my stuff was there! No idea why everything disappeared from my account when using Steam to launch PoE2 (I just rechecked and there's still nothing... if I use Steam), but at least now I can still play the game with all my old characters and microtransactions as long as I use the Standalone PoE2 client.

That's so weird. Maybe some backend handshaking problems? Still shouldn't happen. I never use Steam for anything if I don't have to but I know people who play PoE2 through Steam with their microtransactions just fine. Well, at least you got a fix for your problem and everything's there, good for you! =)

They've already said it's coming to POE1 once they've ironed out any bugs. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't come in the next league.
I started a Huntress and a Ranger a while ago. They are both sitting somewhere in Act 3. I don't find myself enjoying the game very much right now and that's down to a single reason: Unique bosses have way too much life. There are so many bosses and they just take forever to kill. It doesn't matter if they have cool moves and are well designed - a lot of them are - it's just tedious and boring to go up against a giant blob of HP. Especially if you need multiple attempts. I often rather just close the game and do something else then giving it another try, suffering through 10 minutes of boredom and watch the boss enter invulnerability phase a gazzillion times for no other reason than prolonging the fight. And regress stun build up I suppose, which feels awful as well.
I know it's somewhat the build's fault as I don't remember suffering nearly as much on my warrior or sorc back during 0.1. But I already made sure to take a lot of flat damage on gear, level my gems, upgrade my weapon as often as I can and it still feels like dog shit vs bosses. The fact that I don't have any trouble with damage in the areas between bosses leads me to believe it's not just a problem of a poorly balanced low damage skill but mostly due to the fact that the difference between boss hp and normal mob hp is just completely out of whack.
I think they have an identity crisis of sorts but I understand where they were going. Personally I sort of enjoy the boss fights, but I can also understand the pacing whiplash. It's probably too late now, but I think if they wanted to lean into the bossing then end game should have revolved more around boss fights and less map blasting (and have smaller maps during the campaign), but they tried to do both and now you have this bizarre dichotomy.

I'm not big into bosses at all in any game. My favourite games are usually the ones that make trash mobs interesting engagements (i.e. don't have trash mobs) instead of focussing on bosses. Bosses can be fun though but I just don't enjoy fighting a single blob of HP for an extended period of time, no matter how "interesting" their mechanics are. I know they are going for more of a Dark Souls route with this and it had me worried from the beginning. I think a 20-50 % nerf on boss HP in the campaign would alleviate all of my pain (or adjust skill damage accordingly). I can ignore the bosses later on and it's literally my only gripe as I think the campaign is fantastic so far. And it's not like it would invalidate the bosses. That would still give them enough time to show their moves. I would also be fine to make them more deadly in return. I much prefer a shorter lethal fight over an endless war of attrition.
You definitely have some kind of severe damage problem. Boss fights are like sub one minute with low risk of death to you during campaign if your build and items make sense.
